It all started when I was going to diable the Voodoo lagfix to make a CWM backup. I disabled it and then rebooted, and when it came back on, it was back to TW launcher and most of the apps were gone. My market is gone, and when going thru the setup wizard, it doesn't give me an option to log into Google, so my contacts are missing too. I removed voodoo first, then did the Odin process to return to stock. None of this worked, still the same, so I flashed the nandroid stock image. Now I get an error message when I boot up that says "UID's on system are inconsistent, you need to wipe your data partition or your device will be unstable." I have done the factory data wipe from CWM but can not get into the one in settings, as this just FC's. Please help!!!!!!!

Edit: I also don't have any keyboards......

Sorry I wish I could help - don't know anything about the Evo. Apparently I don't know much about mine either! You might want to try posting this in the Evo forum here EVO 4G - All Things Root - Android Forums, they might have more ideas there. Good luck!

Well I ended up going to the Verizon store after work and they swapped it out for a new phone, guess I'm going to play it safe for a while and just leave this one stock :-(
Geez, here's another I feel your pain story :(. It seems without doubt or question most problems are occuring when people try to disable and remove voodoo. I know I just posted about some poor soul trying to uninstall voodoo to put on birdman's new kernel. Frankly thats half the reason Im waiting to the next birdman kernel which should have the voodoo.

But I thought your already running the Voodoo fix?

Why do you have uninstall the VooDoo fix, like will that be OK to leave go during the OTA 2.2 update some time in late 2011? (That time frame is a joke, LOL at it!)

Since I'm not all tech savy, should I VooDoo, or should I not?
There are two voodoo's. [Or more accurately one but in two parts] Voodoo lag fix and voodoo color. I have the lag fix which has been out a few weeks now. The color fix just debuted publicly today. Its not complete though; its not the final build. Also it is not compatabile with the voodoo lag fix. Eventually we'll have everything in one package. Word on the street is the color fix only works for 100% brightness right now and since I use 0% brightness there is no point in me moving over. Although there is the BLN's, I will just wait for the next version. As great as birdman or jt or any of the dev's are when they say this is not the final build there might be issues they do mean it

I did install this new kernel, but only because it DIDN'T have Voodoo! I am staying away from Voodoo, I am running stock now and to me it doesn't seem any slower. But it is alot less risky.
ktez just for accuracy's sake was your problem with voodoo itself when you ran it? Or was it when you tried to remove it and ran into the ubiquitous problems?

It was when I tried to disable Voodoo - I wanted to make a backup in CWM and knew I had to disable Voodoo first. I have the Voodoo toggle from the market and I have used it before with no problems. But this time there were problems....... I know I shouldn't have taken the phone back to Verizon but I'd already gone a day and a half with no phone and gone thru all the posts for removing Voodoo and using Odin to restore to stock etc. And I did all of these several times each - I even learned how to ADB lol. So I just kind of panicked and exchanged the phone. I wish now I would have had more time to try to fix it - somehow Voodoo wasn't completely gone and the file system was screwed up. I wish I could say I brought it back to life but I just didn't have time and needed a phone. According to some of the people at XDA forums, stupid people like me who can't work through problems and fix their phones shouldn't mess with them in the first place so I'm not going to mess with this one.

Good perspective on the situation

yeah thats my one knock on xda is that when you need help, a bunch of posters tell you that you are idiot and shouldnt be modding your phone, and if you scroll through similar posts, many of them had similar or the exact same problem a week or a month agao ;)

We only really learn when we screw up and then have to recover, i know thats true in my case at least. Like its been said before, its very, very, very hard to truly brick an android phone. I mentioned on another thread that someone even flashed the wrong galaxy s rom onto his fascinate and its ok. Really I think the only area to kill this phone is in odin if you do something awful there.
