ok so i just left a club and im in my cart goin home really tispy (im still tipsy) sorry guys if my grammer is all messed up. So it was 12:08 US Central Time and i got the pop up restart for update and yes i got the lagged keyboard bug also im not much of a fan of the new unlock screen, but i will get used to it . So guys tell me ur rants and raves over the OTA and guys wit the manual force updates let us know if its the same or worse. Im out gonna eat mickeyDs tispy as h*ll:)

Just checked and the OTA update was there for me, 2;18am Eastern, installed o.k, Home++ appears ot be working same or better, web is definately snappier, I haven't used the camera much, but it seems somewaht better and I could swear there are more options there, maybe I never saw them before. Home screen orients to landscape on flip without sliding out keyboard and it all seems quicker. Music widget updated automatically to the new one, looks slicker, and seems to be more responsive. Muti-tasking appears to be better, no hangs and transitions are all good - Have to say all up, impressed for a 2.01, now bring on 2.1 (?) in January to fix the exchange items and whatever else a .1 will bring. Very impressed, man the web is super snappy now, even pages I had not previously visited. - Good stuff

Overall I think the phone is a little bit faster. I noticed it when I pulled down the notification bar and moving from the different homescreens. I don't see a difference in the camera function though. Well I didn't think I had a camera issue in the first place so maybe that's why I see no improvements.

The main camera difference I noticed is the time it takes between pictures. After a picture was taken before, I would have to wait several seconds (read 5-8...just a guess) before I could take another shot...Now it's down to around 3...

That said, my battery life **seems** to be a bit LESS. I will test it for a few more days to make sure.

Also, at one point when I unlocked my phone, ALL of my apps/shortcuts/widgets where gone. I had a completely blank home screen (all 3). I rebooted the phone, and all has been fine since...

Notes :
I did my update manually
My H/W build is 40/09

I power off every night, so when I powered up this morning the update message came on so I updated.

A few opinions/observations/issues about the update:

1. The phone does seem snappier, I will admit.
2. My screen *appears* a bit dimmer (I have it all the way down all the time) than last night.
3. This morning my roommate decided she was having an "emergency" and sent a text and left a voicemail while I was in the shower. (WHY she couldn't just knock on my &%$*ing door, I don't know....) After I noticed the blinking light, I tried "unsleep" my phone by pressing the appropriate button....Nothing. I ended up having to do a battery pull. This is the first time that I've had to do that. :(
4. Not a fan of the home screen update. First of all, I *liked* the arch movement- it seems smoother. And secondly, why put a big honkin' digital clock display *off center*?!? However, I can live with these changes.
5. FB app- much better!

Anyone else have any feedback as to whether they've had problems?

One issue I had has been fixed with the update ...

The screen used to jitter and rock & roll when I had the Droid on the OEM AC charger whenever I touched the screen to scroll. It did this with 2 different Droids. That quirkiness is now gone. Kewl!

So here is something, I never noticed before. I am hooked up to my home wifi and just made a call. The Wifi didn't indicate it stopped, but the call went through just fine, it didn't appear to change over to 3G. Note I had about an hour earlier updated visual voicemail which now works over wifi as well.

Also, FWIW, battery life - I have been running since 3:30am from full charge, surfing web - maybe 30 mins total, playing with the layout, screen, etc maybe 60 mins, taken a few calls, watched about 30 mins of you tube, updated weather, run maps for about 30 mins with GPS for locale, and still going strong at 30% (just changed to that) at 4:30pm.

O.k. forget the first paragraph, I just put it in plane mode and turned on Wifi - no dice, so I guess it switched on 3G in the background for the call but just did not show it on the status bar...so false alarm...nothing to see here, move along :)
