Android phone with good sound quality?

I know this question has been asked before, but I was wondering if there was more up to date information! Plus there wasn't too much useful in previous similar threads..

My girlfriend is looking for a new phone - and she likes the android platform (I have a Nexus One).

However, she is not impressed with the sound quality (both in terms of what you hear and what the other person can hear). Plus, the speaker phone on the Nexus One is nigh on useless.

I don't have any experience of the Desire HD, or others - can anyone recommend any that they know has good sound?!

Only one I know about is the Desire HD, it has 5.1 sound. Not sure if it's big screen size is suited for your gf though.

I have an old Nokia N97 and the sound quality on speaker phone (if I'm hands free in my car, for example) is brilliant. My Nexus One just sounds like a bee "bzzzz bzz bzz bzzzzz bzzz". Sigh. I love it, but as a mini-computer, not a phone!!

Is it good when holding to your ear too?
