How I saved 30% of my battery life.

Disable the auto-screen-dimmer, immediately.

Remember, even though this shows no process it still has to compute how much/little light it sees and then apply it to the screen. Kicked the brightness down to the lowest and my battery usage went from 60% screen to about 25%, how it should be.

Plus that thing was worthless, when I was indoors it changed every two seconds depending on how I tilted the phone. Good riddens.

You're talking about the 'Brightness' setting under 'Sound and Display' in the settings menu, right? It seems to have only a on/off option.....nevermind *headslap* I scrolled down and found the slider bar.

There is another app you can download, I think it was called quick settings, which will let you push that a bit more. Works great.

I agree with original poster. You would be surprised how little you need more than low light. Except for direct sunlight, it is always more than bright enough for me. I can play with my phone pretty much all day (crosswords, youtube, texting, Pandora) and only charge when I go to bed if I so choose with the screen turned down.

I use mine at 0% or 25% ... then use the "Brightness Level" widget to change easily on the fly. The auto-dimming feature is goofy.

Ditto. The Power Control widget is NOT an option.
