Is there a live satelite app??

Is there an app that gives you a live feed of lets say your house or anything you want to see that broadcasts a live feed? If that makes sense. Thanks for your input.

Probably, but you'll have to be a member of the military or an intelligence agency with the proper clearances to access it

It doesn't sound stupid, but the feasibility issue is a bit far fetched considering the resources you would need to employ such a system on your phone. If it makes you feel any better you can take comfort in knowing that James Bond can probably do it


Note: You can use GPS navigation to track other people if you have the right software on their Android phone. You can see a satellite image of the location of those phones.. it will be realtime but you won't see your kids tossing a basketball in the backyard through satellite imagery. Check out WaveSecure.. Some of the USGS satellite photos get pretty granular. For example I can see my wife's car parked in front of our house and my Car in the parking lot at work, so your friend might be able to see his kids, it's just not live. The shot of my office is from Google Earth, but if you look it up on bing maps you get satellite images from two years ago.

I'm not aware of any consumer available real time satellite imagery. I doubt there is even high resolution commercial real time imagery available. Military stuff, that's a different story, but you are not going to get it on your phone.

As sitlet noted, you can set up a web cam and stream that. Or a security camera system that has a web-access capability. Lot's of affordable possibilities in that regard, but it isn't coming from a satellite.

I had a guy in one of my classes that insisted his phone in japan had this feature.
I did some research and wasnt able to find anything like that at all. Some folks in japan said it was silly that their government would allow that type of security breach to civilians phones.
Consider the resources this would require (thousands of people adjusting the satellite cameras at the same time) and what implications this would have to allow a civilian access to live satellite images. It's hard to believe this would be accessible to the public.
