Help Droooooid question on acquiring as ringtone

I just did a simple Bing search and found several mentions of a Droid mp3. Here is one.
A more Fred Flintstone method would be for you to just record the sound of your Incredible at start-up, save it to your phone, then use the phone's ring tone maker to create your own customize sound.

BING?!? I'm sorry, but I am now forced to mock you derisively...

Why is that? Many people saw Bing's introduction into search as a real market changer taking significant market share.
How they display photos was bounds ahead of all the other search engines.
They were the first to use simultaneous suggestions as you type.
And their local search has been recognized as being better than even Google's by many reviewers.
Not to mention they have a pretty picture each day as background. :)
But then again, a lot of people can't give credit to Microsoft no matter how good a product they put out because of their own biases in not liking anything that Microsoft can do and loving everything Apple does....kind of like Ford & Chevy.

NOTE: I actually think that market share is only a good comparision of business models, not products. But since you brought it up.

Google has a 64% Domestic market share, with a -1% year on year loss as of July (meaning they lost 1% of their user base). Bing has a 13.6% domestic share with a 51% yoy gain (meaning a 50% gain in user base). Which means, they AREN'T gaining it's users from Google. Bings marketshare is coming from Yahoo (or probably from AOL, what few aol users are still around).

And you do realize it was going to gain a significant marketshare on day one for no other reason than it's the default search engine for the most popular OS and internet browser. Call me a technological snob if you want, but I'm not going to base what services I use off of what the 45% of users who haven't realized they can use something besides IE and bing.

EDIT: ok, I'll give Microsoft credit where credit's due. Their legal team is very successful at edging around monopoly and antitrust laws (for the most part).

Seriously though, they do makes some decent products. However, they're business model is so messed up they have to charge WAY more than they would be worth in a true free market. And no matter how good bing is, in 18 months to 3 years Steve Ballmer will decide to pull back in order to focus on their core business interests.

I use Mabilo Ringtones (search Mabilo in the market - it's free).

Search droid, and download it. Once you do that, go to messages, and change the setting to the droid ringtone. Probably the easiest method for you. Or another ringtone app that others mentioned would work, too.

Zedge works well to o. Search for something you want, play it. IF you like, hit download and then hit Set. Realy easy.

well, I did just that.
I managed to read enough to get Droid as my ringtone
now on to figuring out how to make it show up in my notification sound options.
Thank you for your patient and kind response.
Pat

I didn't see this mentioned, but if you want to use certain tones for notification sounds, you need to create a folder on your SD card and name it "Notifications" and put the tones in there. Then when you go to set a notification sound they will show up.
