Help LOTS of things going wrong/stopped working recently. What gives?!

So yesterday I was using Navigation app to get home from work, when my phone died half way through the trip. Luckily, the GPS got me far enough that I knew where I was and got home safely.

Anyways, I had a lot going on yesterday, and just left my phone in my purse until I went to bed. I left it charging, turned off, all night.

This morning, when I turned it on... disaster!

First thing I noticed was the default sound for all the updates, notifications, etc., was different. (Random...) I've never heard this sound before. It's now set to "Ascend" when it was always defaulted as "Color". Never changed that setting since I got the phone. I turned it back and went on with my business.

Then, when I went into GMail and Facebook, it made me re-enter all my account information, and it started re-syncing.

I then notice all my contacts are messed up. Half of them are no longer synced with their Facebook accounts, and most of them no longer have names associated with the phone numbers (no pictures, no synced names, all I see is blank pictures with the phone number). When I go into my SMS's, half my contacts are just phone numbers, no names, no pics, nothing.

Also, NONE of my widgets are working! On my second page, I had The Weather Channel widget, Google Search widget, Youtube widget, DroidArmory Widget, and MyVerizon widget. They are now all blank boxes that say "Problem loading gadget". And when I initially turn to that page when the phone starts up, I get all those force close errors for each app.

When I go to my 3rd page, my bookmarks widget now says I have no bookmarks, "Tap to add a bookmark", etc.

I also always have Advanced Task Killer running, and when I go to see whats running, it starts loading the list, I see the list of running apps for half a second, and I get, "Sorry! The application ATKFree has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" Force Close. However, it doesn't REALLY close, it's still running up top.

I've tried restarting it a few times, and nothing changes.

I've tried removing my memory card, and placing it back in, nothing.

Anyone have any ideas?!

Cliffs: Phone battery died while using Navigation. When fully recharged and turned on, the following happened:
1. Default notification sound changed from "Color" to "Ascend".
2. All apps are making me re-enter all my account info (Facebook, GMail, etc.)
2. Contacts & People are all messed up. Not syncing, not linking to like-contacts, no pictures, no contact info saved, etc.
3. No widgets working. Getting "Problem loading gadget" images in their place. They also get force close messages when phone first starts.
4. Bookmarks no longer exist.
5. Advanced Task Killer (free) force closing.

Almost the exact same chain of events, except I was turning off my phone to change to my slimmer battery and when I turned it back on...exactly the same as you described.

Any update?

I dont know if this is helpful, but I have seen a few problems when people turn their phone off and change batteries before they turn it back on (or turn it back on with a charged battery when they turned it off with an uncharged battery).

I have no idea if this is a problem many people have had, but I had to do a reset when i tried switching batteries once (since froyo). (mine was from 1 HTC stock battery to another HTC stock battery).

My suggestion is to back things up before you change batteries. I wish i could be more help.
