The question is Will The G1 phone come out with new and exciting games this up coming year? The phone is awesome and I love it but the biggest complaint that I have is the iphone kills the g1 phone in this category. Will the g1 ever try to compete in the game market?

Remember the apple market isn't just for iPhone, it's also for the iTouch -- a device designed for music, video, and games. The iPhone is essentially iPod + Phone, the key being that they took what was already exclusively an entertainment device and added a phone feature. Android is a mobile OS developed by Google, so it's Google + Phone. So you're comparing Apples to Oranges. Or, Apples to Googles.:p

Ultimately it depends on developers. My thought is "no", because Google itself doesn't seem all that interested in games. But since it's open source, the ball is in the court of developers to build games folks want to play on the G1, so far it's all sodoku, tic-tac-toe, Simon-knock-offs, and ports from the iPhone market.

Personally, I really don't care about games, I have a PSP and GBA if I want portable games. The GBA, quite frankly, has a better interface for gaming than the G1 or the iPhone IMHO. I'm fine with solitare on a phone, especially one experiencing the memory and battery issues the G1 has.

Well the G1 definitely seems capable for many iPhone-like quality games. Have you checked out the NeoCore demo in the marketplace?

It's definitely up to the developers to produce it, though.

The application storage issue should be such a simple fix! When root was had on RC<30 it was as simple as a symlink to the sdcard; i don't see why it's taking so long for an 'official' solution to arrive now that our phones are less open.
