Root [Q] Rooted Droid X Stock ROM with bootstrapper, removed bloat. Can if factory reset ?

bloat will remain after the reset. if you wanna go back to true stock, you have to find the .sbf and flash it.

but that sounds strange. i dont think it's because of something you removed. the phone charging properties have nothing to do with software. otherwise, it wouldnt charge if it were powered off. my guess is that it's your outlet or the charger itself. i would rule out those things before going back to stock.

Tried a lot of different outlets. No go. Can i take it back to Verizon to replace it ? Will they deny service because of root

yeah, take it back. have em try a different charger first, though.

they could possibly refuse to replace the phone. most reps dont know what to look for, and the ones that do are typically sympathetic with rooters, because they themseves root. however, you could catch one who knows what to look for, and follows the policy. so, i would say dont worry about it, but i wont guarantee anything.

I would recommend charging it up through USB first and flash to the leaked OTA 2.2 Froyo available on Home

how to flash back to stock froyo 2.2:
1. download RSD lite v4.8
2. download the full SBF file at Home
3. run DX in bootloader mode (do this by pressing and holding in order 1.) the red camera button + volume down button + power button
4. hook up the USB to your DX and find the SBF file through RSD lite and click "start"
5. your phone should now be back to the original way you got it!
Cheers,
E

Why flash first to leaked 2.2 ? I got the phone with 2.2 by stock. Why not just flash to 2.2 SBF ? Is it safe to flash SBF ?

I dont see why rooting and installing bootstrap or even removing any bloatware would cause your phone not to charge from a charger but only from a usb charge... that sounds like an issue that flashing the sbf might not fix.
flashing the sbf WILL however remove root and restore your bloat for you.
I also dont see why youd need to flash to a leaked 2.2 before flashing the sbf if your phone CAME WITH 2.2 to begin with.
just my .02 though... and like all advise should be taken with a grain of salt and at your own risk
