Help x10 mini music player & transfer problem

I transferred (1,100 songs) 5gb worth of mp3 files from my computer to the x10 mini 8gb sd card, the transfer went perfect, and when i double checked the folder in the sd card, it has all the music and it says 5gb.

Here comes the problem, once i safely remove hardware and disconnect the usb from phone, the phone will index the media and auto refresh it and when i go to the music player and check all tracks, it is only showing 412 songs and around 1.7gb, and when i scroll from top to buttom it only shows artist from A-G, and H-Z is not being refresh or read by the music player. Even when i restart the phone, it doesn't refresh and add the missing music files.

Now i keep testing it and i thought maybe the sd card is malfuctioning or is corrupted but that's not the case, i check the sd card in the computer and the 16gb sd card is showing all 1,100 5gb worth of songs and when I used it on a diff mp3 player, it reads all 1,100 5gb music files just fine.

Is the x10 mini limited to only storing around 1.7 to 2gb of music files on a 8gb card, or is there a setting somewhere where the limitations can be turn off?

Another thing is, on my other phones and mp3 player, you can manually refresh the music player when new songs are added, how do we do this on the x10 mini?

Basically the main issue here is the x10 mini music player is only refreshing/indexing upto 1.7-2gb (400-412 songs), when i check the sd card settings on phone it says 8gb capacity and 3gb remaining, so that means 5gb is used up, but for some reason the music player is only showing 1.7-2gb 412 songs

Hope you can help guys

:thinking::thinking:

I solved the problem, thanks for trying though Rosered.

The problem was that the phone didn't like one of my songs in the library and when it starts refreshing/indexing all my mp3 files and as soon as it reaches that one mp3 file, the x10 mini stops refreshing and indexing and that's how my other hundreds of songs didn't show up in the music player library

It had nothing to do with how you transfer from pc to phone since drag and drop is supported and easier to use than media go

Glad you got it sorted out. How did you track it down to the individual song?

The Media Go thing seems a bit superfluous I agree when you can drag and drop but I just wondered if it was being particularly perniticky about how you got the files over (it is SE afterall!!!)

Whew u have no idea how long it took me to figure that one file out lol, i did it by increments of maybe 10-20 songs, and by the time i got to 400th that's the time i noticed it stopped indexing probably took me a few hours, but even before i predicted that issue, it took me probably 2-3 days to figure out what is causing almost my entire mp3 collection not showin up on the x10 mini library because i was following all clues and leads like when you mentioned about the media go/drag n drop, maybe a hardware issue, software limitations, or maybe it is the default android music player etc... But i'm glad it's all fixed now :)

Blimey what a kerfuffle but your persistence paid off in the end, well done you!

So was it a particular file type that it didn't like or just a corrupt mp3 file. Always good to know solutions in case I see the question asked again. This will be my learn something new every day for today!

It wasn't a corrupt/bad file because my other phone/pc and mp3 player can see and play it just fine, the x10 mini just didn't like it so it's a sofware issue i believe

Colpolite: I got the same issue here. It would be very helpful to have the file that caused the error on your phone to track down this bug. Is it possible to send it to me by mail? This would be great!

Hello there, I didn't use any software/program or file to track down this bug, basically what I did was i manually search for that one particular song that was causing the music player on the x10 mini to stop refreshing the rest of the songs.

What you should do is the same thing I did, try and transfer all your songs, after you do that, wait til your phone index/refresh then on your music player scroll down the list of all your songs until you reach the last one, usually the nxt song after the last one is the one causing the error.

Peace
