OKAY

gonna post it here as it is very relative

The wife and i had a meeting this morning with a few people - 2 of these being from Sony Ericsson - now i AM NOT explaining how and why

Anyhow, during this meeting, we were talking about the 2.1 update and it was mentioned by one of the guys from Sony that we should expect it on Wednesday next week, 3rd November

Now i'm not in any way saying that this is DEFO the release date - and yes people may question the validity of this - but the guy who told me has been about 95% accurate on launches beforehand - and if i was a betting man - i'd put money on it

Obviously this hasn't been confirmed on any channels, and if i even ask SEUK on twitter they will just blah blah blah can't confirm blah blah blah

So do with it what you will

Just watched this video and come to one conclusion.

SE does not want there X10 to be an android phone and insist on keeping as a mobile phone!

Why?

Well check out @28 seconds, it show the dumb phone smiley icons like:

:) :( :D  :p

Not the default android smiley icons

I know I'm fussy but I love them little guys and I want them on my X10 they seem to be stock on every other android phone I have used now :(

I have a theory on that

if you'll allow me the time to go through it - as it takes quite a while

Sony want the phone to be the centre of your social experience, through time on Windows, MSN, Yahoo, AOL etc etc etc ALL smileys have been "dumb" phone orientated

to help users with the transition to a social experience phone, maybe keeping the smileys more in line with what people are used to is designed to help with that

not as long as you thought eh lol
