seems good so far, removed some tw stuff, runs pretty smooth, but swype isnt working right for some reason. otherwise a pretty good first release so far

I never really installed any roms, all i ended up doing was rooting, voodoo and de-binged, any real benefit from installing a custom rom?

really at the moment....no. the roms we have currently are closer to optimized nandroids than true "roms". this mostly has to do with the bad 2.1 source code from samsung. once 2.2 code is out for the sf, hopefully tw, vanilla, and aosp roms will emerge that provide real performance boosts.

im just a flashing addict, and while you could really make any of the changes in these roms on your own (mostly) its fun to try different stuff.

did he get swype to work yet? I tried reinstalling it and it says it was made for a different device and will only work in a limited ode. Which mean like a normal keyboard. I know he's looking into just wondering if you've heard

I like it because it got rid of that baby blue crap and has a black theme.
But I need my Swype

according to deodexed's twitter 1.1 will be out "soon". im sure he ll have it out tomorrow or something. i liked it, but the swype issue made me go back to jt's....for now, until thats fixed

it ll be a welcome and joyful day when we get full out roms though

Yeah agree.
I guess I can wait a day for him to put it back. He tried to help today on irc but we couldn't figure it out and he said he hates swype but apparently lots of people love it. He said he would make a special version just for me lol. I'm betting it will be in 1.1.

I was using just the Android keyboard and just pulled down Smart Keyboard Pro which so many rave over. Having said that, I would prefer the option to have swype and it sounds like the next version will have it back.
What would be super sweet is if they get could birdman's next kernel revision in too

touch typing is so old fashion. I won't be flashing any voodoo stuff so I hope there isn't any of it in his next kernel. My phone will not disable voodoo without me having to remove it. so until I can do a nandroid with it installed I'm staying away from it. I do to much modifying to go through all that to do a backup or restore.

piiman you havent been able to do the disable_lagfix file in root explorer to disable voodoo and then nandroid? always worked fine for me. i agree its a real hastle and pita but the fact that clockwork can't recognize ext4 is the issue. maybe that ll get resolved at some point....hopefully.

i like the idea that z4mod may/will get ported for the fascinate which would enable non-voodoo kernels to be developed again and oced. you would then be able to install any lagfix and file extension ON top of the kernel instead of voodoo being built into the kernel.

Nope. Every time I disable it it goes through the steps says done reboots and then nothing blank screen. I end up having to remove then restore to get it working so at that point no sense in doing a backup I could deal with it if it worked. I wonder if Koush will modify CL as that would be the best solution IMO?

yeah i thought i saw someone say (cant remember when/where) that it would possible at some point to update cwr but a lot depended on what the standard for the fascinate would be as there seems to be *new* voodoo in the works at some point, z4mod, optimized stock kernels, so it wasnt worth developing at the moment or something.

I used the disable_lagfix (or whatever the word is) and then tried the app.
Did all the other stuff also and I thought it worked until I tried to download and app I realized it was still messed up.

I don't really see any benefit other than a bigger Q score anyways.

to each his own w/ voodoo. whenever i disable lagfix i play around and i find noticable lag in most things i do on my phone. my feeling on it is, its gotta be doing something right if many galaxy s phones out there use it. if your phones not lagging stock though, all the power to you
