Root um...1.6Ghz OC, 3000+ Quadrant and 78FPS on Neocore oh my!

Probably because we already had two threads on it in the main SF forum which got merged http://androidforums.com/samsung-fascinate/207418-nirvana.html

The impending SF delay is cause for :( however, any and all Galaxy S progress is good. What one does the others likely can do as well. Besides this might get Dirrk or jt back into the game. Birdman's still futzing around with his own stuff. Im sure my Christmas we'll all be just straight up pimping it with some awesome Froyo ROM's and 1.5GHz+ goodness

Jt just released two new kernels, but they are stock speed low voltage, he said he is not interested in oc anymore. Honestly if we could get a stripped optimized kernel that runs as fast as this 1250 i'd be game. Highest efficiency per clock is best.
Yeah he's definitely out, Dirrk says he's still in [or he did last week] I only just jumped back on IRC today just as he was throwing up those kernels.

Im greedy though I want it all. All these new optimizations plus Froyo plus OC plus voodoo you name it I want it.

OK I'll be the first to rain on this parade, even though I joked about running out for spare batteries in the other thread.

This is with OCLF, that was getting 2500 something Quadrants with the stock 1ghz. Didn't Dirrk say he stopped seeing any benefit past 1250 or so?

yeah the quadrant scores dont mean much to me honestly at it relates to this (although when they change to another lagfix ill be), but breaking the fps cap we see now is. I think dirrk did say he was hitting a wall performance wise trying to go to 1.3, but king has a viable 1.3 kernel now for the vibrant so it was possible just trickier.

im assuming this was done on a 2.1 kernel? i didnt see that specified.

i know a lot of people dont see the benefit to oc besides benchmarks or bragging rights, but personally if I have phone capable of something, I'd like to use it that way

edit: registered at their forum and i believe its only a 2.1 kernel now

2300 is out the high end for 1Ghz with OCLF. 2500-2600 was only achieved with 1.2Ghz. So if the 3K is legit and they're using OCLF than yes it seems they'd need to be or around 1.6Ghz to achieve that score.
They have a massive thread on xda and it all seems legit.
I even asked jt last night on irc :
[20:09] <saps> jt mind me asking you your opinion of these Bionix/Whiskey guys? You think they are legit with their 1.6Ghz Vibrant claims?
[20:09] <@jt1134> probably

[20:09] <@jt1134> I still don't see the point though :)
So yeah jt is still on record not as a proponent of OCing as a real performance value. There are hardware guys and there are software guys. Which is why he stopped OC kernels

I also registered at the whiskey place but it didnt seem like they had any info there.

the oclf im disregarding, but the devs had said they would consider voodoo support in future or seeing if the kernel would work with z4mod or other lagfixes. their goal is to make a stable kernel and believe that the hummingbird processor can be pushed to 2.0 ghz safely.

they do it by ocing the gpu and cpu and from the growing vibrant thread at xda people are reporting good results with use, although the battery was reporting a *tick* too hot for what id like to see from daily use.

i tend to think that once it moves to more testing and goes beta if it looks good then someone will port it over. i saw in the devs forum that wicked beav was asking about the code and they said it would be posted as soon as they move past testing. :)

basically if its good, and worth doing, we ll get it...thats the way i look at it.

Good post. Yeah I mean even I dont think 2Ghz is realistic. A bit of a gpu OC would be a nice thing especially when paired with the fps unlock. Give me the best combo of max speed and decent battery life

yeah i dont see 2000 mhz as happening but i wouldnt put it past these guys either if theyve gone 300 mhz higher than anyone else has and its stable. Would I want 2000? no, i dont think so. id like the 1600 to come to use with more scaling options like 1200,1400,1600 and id probably go with 1400 for everyday use if battery life was the same.

I seem to remember you disagree though correct? Seems like you tried all the kernels. I just went from stock to Voodoo + 1.2ghz, I couldn't tell you if it's the OC or lag fix that made the difference. I'm mostly talking about subjective feel here, not so much benchmarks.

I have no stability problems at 1.2ghz, but if I could get the same performance with one of those deodex'd cleaned up ROMs and 1ghz Voodoo I bet I'd gain some battery life.

Absolutely I say OC till it melts, not really but I am not stopping at 1.2Ghz.

You do realize you can run one of the LowVoltage oc'd kernels and get faster speed with less power than stock. If your device is stable at LV. I'm quite pleased with my results but if there was one that like you said was stripped, gave the same level of performance, but at lower clock speed then im game.
