Afternoon all,

Not seen anyone speaking about this app in here and only found it myself a few days ago while trawling the depths of XDA.

Its called PowerAMP and IMO its the best media player out there.

Its damn sexy, has an EQ and is so bloody loud I have my volume on 50%! Plays pretty much all types too...

Support:
-MP3, MP4/M4A,loseless ALAC,FLAC, OGG, WAV, TTA, WMA
-Has own codecs
-3 Widgets
-Choose music from SD card
-Tegs, lyrics
-Skins, 2 in beta version
-Fast scan of files ( in 1 second 1000files, depends on phone speed)
-EQ

Its not available on the market as its still Beta but you can grab it from my Dropbox here...

With widget background

With Jay_Kays modded transparent widget

Enjoy :D

Yes it does :)

Its got 2 skins too and they both look stunning. The only thing I reckon that would stop people using it is that its not got an album art widget. Its still looks lovely tho with its glowing blue buttons :)

I might give it a go then...success or failure for me will depend on whether it scrobbles my playcounts to iSynchr :)

as much as i detest iTunes i still need it for playcounts (for custom playlists) and podcasts...

Sorry to sound really dumb here, very long day today!
I downloaded the zip file from the link above, how do I install it from a zip file? Normally its apk file is it not?
Can someone tell me what to do? I copied it to my phone via dropbox, and when I open it through there it just shows the folders packaged within the zip file.
Thanks

was last week :p

anyway yes this is the best music player available and i will be buying it when its released as the dev certainly deserves my penies
I do believe its the first android media player to be able to function as well as this and offer people an EQ (for those that want one) that actually works without distorting the audio or causing compression issues (dsp mod)

amazing dev

I downloaded from both links and they were both .apk's

The one from Fileserve (the newest version) is a zip when I download it. Any idea why this might be happen?
Lexirion kindly sent me a PM with a link to the older version that is an apk file. But I would very much like the new version.
Could someone possibly hook me up to a link to the newest apk in their dropbox?

Downloaded last night and first impressions are very good. :)

I note in the settings there is an option to select headphone controls so that the player will reach to inline controls such as forward, backward, volume, pause, play etc.

I haven't been able to find a set of headphones with these controls that will work with the Desire (apart from the bundles ones). Does anyone know if this player will work with any sort of headphones with such controls?

Many thanks :p
