HTC Incredible FREE tomorrow (10.29.10) at Best Buy!!!

Just bought mine last week at Best Buy for $199. I called them and they will NOT price match even though I'm within my 30 days.

NOT happy about that at all.......

That really bites. Could you simply return your phone since it's within 30 days and the turn around and pick up the Incredible tomorrow? Kind of a pain, but $200 might be worth the trouble.

I'm really tempted to get this now, but I'm trying to decide between the Incredible, the Droid X, or one of the newer upcoming Samsung Continuum or HTC Merge.

I could do that I suppose. The problem would be whether or not they *immediately* reset my contract status/upgrade date. I don't know if that's something that takes a couple of days or what. I hate to be this type of consumer but I may just hit the store tomorrow and ask them to pricematch, and get upset if they pushback. $200 is a lot of money :(

That's what I would do (@ttran). If you're within the return period. Just return it (which voids your renewal) and then re-renew to get the new one free. :D

Do you think my renew date will reset immediately? I just don't want any hiccups. Seems a whole lot easier for everyone involved if they would just pricematch the stupid thing.

As much as I'd love to jump at these free Inc deals (Best Buy and wireFly) I'm going to wait for the new generation of droids. I've seen this movie before, when Verizon (or anyone) starts over advertising and or drops prices on an older product to jump start sales right before a newer, better, product ships IE: Inc HD. While a free Inc looks promising to an Eris user like myself, being locked into it for 2 years while newer, faster, more advanced phones start rolling out quickly brings me back to reality.

FYI: I called the store where I purchased the phone....they said they would NOT price match. Have had some trouble with those guys there so I called a different store and was told they WOULD pricematch. Problem solved I guess. Hopefully they will follow thru tomorrow.

I would imagine they will price match, you hold the upper hand. If not return it and purchase again...I doubt they want to go through that hassle.

Not sure he can return and purchase again and get the rebate. I know some other places let you return it in the 30 days, but you lose the chance to get any new customer rebates and the like.

That being said, I'd go online and print off Best Buy's price matching policy.

Then I'd to the store. Go through customer service, and be polite and respectful. That being said, don't take know for an answer. You're right. You have it in writing, on the website for everyone to read. If you can't get somebody to agree with you in 5 minutes, get their manager. If they don't agree, get the managers manager.

Or just go to the other, non-crazy store.

Anyone know what time they will update the site with the phones for this week?
EDIT: Ha! I just checked again. It went from saying 15 Verizon Phones to 16. I scrolled down and found the DInc. Yay!

Also, I have a secondary line on my plan that is eligible for an upgrade. I can use this right?
EDIT: Just ordered the DInc for my secondary line!! I even got free shipping! Yay!

Let us know how it turns out. I think some Fascinate owners had both good and bad luck with it.

Does anyone know if you can upgrade using a different phone on your family plans upgrade? I have my main line NE2 upgrade plus two other upgrades on phones my parents use. My idea was use one of their upgrades & save my NE2 in case something better comes out? Does anyone know if that's possible? Thanks in advance

Yes, upgrade their line and get the new phone. Then activate it on THEIR line (it seals the contract). Then, go to the verizon website, and "activate a new phone" on their line, and put their OLD phone back on their line.

Now, on your line, do the same thing but with the NEW phone. You're NE2 will still be available.

Can this be done in store? I go to Best Buy for example and ask them to do this or is that too sneaky for them? Also, since the phone line I upgrade now has a smartphone attached to it (my parents have the oldest flip phones possible) will they add a 2nd data plan to my account?

I'm sure you'll have to add the $30 monthly data plan to whatever phone number you upgrade to the DInc, which sorta defeats the purpose...

Yea, but, If I add the data to the dumbphone I'm trying to upgrade couldn't I cancel it when I move the Inc over to my line since I already have a data plan?

If that's not possible, let's try this another way. If I use my NE2 on the Inc today, will I still get the NE2 price of a new phone using one of the other lines upgrades considering I'm the main line?

I've decided to take advantage of this Best Buy deal. Of all the phones currently available, I think the Incredible has the best form factor and the screen is much better than the DX. I know it's not the fastest or whatever, but I really just use my phone for light internet browsing and Angry Birds. It's more important for me to have good GPS and good camera.

I know the Incredible HD is coming out soon, but I really don't need a front-facing camera, and 4.3 inch screen is simply too big for me. But if it comes out within 30 days, i MIGHT switch my phone if it turns out to be totally mind-blowing. :)

I also have another upgrade coming up in July, so I'll wait until then to get an LTE phone. So for now, this phone will be amazing compared to my Eris! Can't wait till BB opens this morning!

Yes, if your other line doesn't have data, you will have to add it. However, when you switch back to a dumbphone, just go into your options and cancel the data, problem solved. You will see a full $30 charge for data, and then a prorated return for the 29 days you didn't have data, so you might pay like $0.89 for having data for the 1 day :p
