Droid Incredible for FREE, Droid X for $150 or wait for Incredible HD?

Sorry, this is posted in the Verizon section too, but looking to get some quick feedback :)

This is the dilemma I'm facing. Found out that Best Buy mobile is doing a final "Free Phone Friday" promotion. Incredible is FREE with 2 year agreement. I've been wanting the Droid X, but the Incredible is a very close 2nd in my rankings. If you were faced with this decision what would you go with and why? I know it's personal preference, but just looking to get a feeler on this. Also, would you throw all this aside and wait longer for the rumored Incredible HD to supposedly drop on Nov. 23rd 2010?

Thanks in advance people!

The Incredible HD is going to be really nice, but nobody can really give you an answer as to which one is better until they are both released. Once the IHD becomes "official" I would pick up an X and make use of the 30 day policy. Play with the X and see if you like it. If not take it back and await the release of the IHD.

Thanks to all for taking the time for feedback. I'm definitely trying to resist the upgrade, especially because I can easily afford the $150 - $200.

My main issue was FREE. Definitely adds and element to the decision making. Overall, I keep telling myself, even though it's free, I still knew I wanted the Droid X so I would basically be giving in over pricing (or lack thereof).

I think the X is superior as well. I like the idea of waiting slightly longer, then buying the X and taking advantage of the 30-day option to switch.

Again, thank you!

get the free inc! when the HD comes, you can sell the inc, then put the money into the HD. you can use the Dinc for a month or two, then sell it, and the HD at full price will only cost you $200-300 (with the DI proceeds).
vzw must be being REALLY tight lipped about the HD. i usually see all of the phones way before they come out. i've seen the merge, continuum, pro, D2 world, citrus, LG Vortex, but havent even heard of the IncHD (except for on the interwebs).

no, i mean i've heard the rumors on the internet. but, i work for verizon, and i am in a position where i get to see things really early. i was saying i've actually seen those other devices in person. i am getting my HTC merge on monday. but, i havent heard anything about the DincHD from within verizon. they must really want to keep it under wraps.

If I were you, I'd wait. The Droid X is scheduled to be End-Of-Lifed in March, so even if the IncHD does drop in November but isn't all that, then it will probably just be a matter of time before the DX is free or has a drastically reduced price. I have a friend with a DInc, and while it is a nice phone, I wouldn't trade my DX for it. They are very similar hardware-wise, but the screen size of the DX pushes it past the DInc.

not likely. the D1 never went free, and at verizon, it only dropped down to $149, and that was only after it went EOL.

What is this LTE anyway? I've seen it mentioned a few times now but haven't seen an explanation to what it is.

"Long Term Evolution" It is just the next generation of Verizon's network. are you being sarcastic?
if not, there is a lot to it, but the biggest thing is that it's supposed to be 12Mbps download and 2-5Mbps up.

I just noticed on another page that the Merge is the Incredible HD... or is that what you meant?

ah. that makes sense. well, that i have seen. as a matter of fact, i'm getting one on monday. although, the merge has a slide out keyboard, and i'm not sure how i feel about that. i kinda like having that for my primary exchange server phone, though.
