My dinc is rooted and I have the Evo Camera app installed. My buddy who also has a dinc saw the shutter on screen feature and was wondering if he could install on his dinc. His dinc is not rooted. I have a apk file.

Can I install the Evo camera over the stock camera in a non-rooted phone?

Thanks!

what differences does the evo camera app have over the stock one?

Shutter button on screen with autofocus that actually works,

No need to hard press the optical trackpad button or double, triple, quadruple tap the screen to focus and shoot.

No more blurry pictures.

It makes the camera on the Incredible so much better, HTC should make it a hot fix.

Hi I've been rooted for some time now and have ran ROMs that had the evo camera on them before and loved it. Right now I am running SkyRaider 3.3 which does not have it and I was wondering if there was a place that I could download just the evo camera apk and install it stand alone? If so link please?

Its in rom manager. Under Virtuous rom, then extra goodies.

hrm. i downloaded the evo camera app from rom manager as well and it worked fine. then when I read the post about the shutter sound not working, I went to test out my shutter sound and now my camera force closes when I try to open it

EDIT:
ok, so I must have updatd my CM6 or something since I downloaded the evo camera app because I just realized I didn't have the evo camera app. Instead of the round camera app icon, I had the picture of a camera, and a seperate camcorder app. I re-installed the evo camera app from rom manager and now it works. Although, I can't even find the shutter sound setting.

With the stock 2.2 cam app I can soft the screen to change focus point. If I continue to touch that spot, the camera snaps a picture -- one touch focus and shoot, no blurry pictures. Is that what you are looking for in the EVO app?
