Help Creating a new photo album

Any folder you add with pictures in it will have a new heading within Albums.
for my mac it's done like this
-plug in your usb cable.
-mount
-open Drive and look under Media -
-Right click-New Folder-Place any new pictures you want in your new folders.
Example- New Folder- Renamed to "Contact"- Put in your pictures of your contacts.
-UNMOUNT your phone- EJECT your drive. Now you have a new album!

Hey DDustiNN :D

To put Folders on your Gallery:

1) Plug your Phone into the PC
2) Drag down the White notification Box & click Mount
3) Your phone will now appear as a removable drive {Can be fond under "My computer" in Windows}
4) Navigate to teh Folder "DCIM"
5) Right Click and select new folder
6) Rename it what you want {this name will appear as the folder name on your phone}
7) Drop an Image in their
8) Unmount -> Go to Gallery your phone and you will see the new folder

Now you can arrange all the Relevant pics into the relevant Folder/Folders

I saved a file from an e-mail attachment, and it saved it to the root directory. In the Albums app, it was under an album called "Other". I tried using Astro, and I created a folder called Graphics. I then did a "Move" and "Paste" on an image I wanted to be in that folder. The picture is now in the DCIM/Graphics folder, but there is no album for it in the Albums app. Also, the "Other" album is gone now too. The only way to navigate to the image now is in the "All Photos" album.

On a PC, make sure you first download the sync software. I tried creating folders and it would not recognize the folders. After installing the software, mount the phone. Now the phone should open with all the directories. There should be a folder named albumthumb or something like that-without the HTC sync software I could not see the folder prior. Now just create new folders under this albumthumb folder or drag your different picture folders already saved on your pc into this location.

I use Astro File Browser to do this on the phone. I will often make a new Album in my master 'PHOTOS' directory after taking some shots at a specific event. Then I will move the photos from the default DCIM folder into this new 'album' so that the default DCIM folder usually remains empty. This makes it much easier to 'Select All' from that folder after the next event.

But I originally setup my master folder structure from the PC. MUCH easier.

Is there a specific location your folders have to be in order for them to be recognized as an album? As I said above, I made a folder in DCIM called "Graphics", but I do not have a Graphics album show up for some reason... (yes there is at least 1 pic in there).
Did you try unmounting and restarting your phone? That's what I had to do in order to get my folders for ringtones & notifications to show up.

I put all of my albums in a folder on the root called 'photos'. I can't remember if it was this or my 'music' folder that had to be all lower-case to be recognized (maybe both). Try creating a folder on the root (or possibly in the DCIM folder), and name it photos (all lowercase).

There was a folder in Media called "pictures" (all lower case), which seemed to work fine for me. So it sounds like there's more than one place it pulls them from...

Hi guys,

I was looking for a long time for an app like this, I was tired to connect my phone to my computer to create and move photos, I really don't understand why android hasn't these features :thinking:

I've installed a few days ago an app called Foozer Free from the android market I'm surprised how fast and responsive is this app and I finally create and moves photos from my phone and everywhere.

A plus! You can rename your albums with your locations, something I think is usefull when you travelling.. I will test it in a few day :D

Maybe I'm missing something, but am putting photos in albums without connecting to the computer. Go to Gallery, My Library, All Photos, press Settings button & Select Multiple (select 1 or more),press Settings button again & select More. There it is: 'add to album'.

Hi Trish,

which phone do you have? All phones I've seen with defaults galleries apps, doesn't allow to create new albums! Every Brand creates differents Galleries apps for his customers, you're lucky! :p

If you need other options like hide albums you can do it with Foozer too!!

Bye
