when I unplug my evo from usb the charging light stays on and the battery indicator on the top bar continues with the charging animation as if it is plugged in. this does not go away. i have to reboot the phone to resolve.

i tried search but only thread i found didnt have an answer.

thanks

(first post btw. just got my evo the other day and im loving it)

yeah it seems to happen everytime i unplug from my computer. except when i turn off computer with it still plugged in.

i'd want to try to avoid returning it if i can.

also sometimes i do notice that im not getting notified for text messages.

Please explain further ...you would rather keep a possible defective phone then return it.

Was it used or what? Try a hard reset. Mine has done this once...soft reset it went away and has not happened again

nothing fishy i bought it new from bestbuy. i just dont want to hassle with the whole return process and getting a new phone after i spent the time setting this one up.

i suppose at least i'll have to do a hard reset.

im sure it will delete everything from my phone. is there any way to back up apps for easy redownload?

mybackup in the market or check out appbrain

i didn't like mybackup but it is going to backup the most (if it works right) and may still offer a 30 day trial.

and yes... a hard reset is going to delete everything. lol

I say half jokingly...are you more concerned with keeping your settings and apps? or fixing your phone?

:p

so i swap my evo at best buy. they were good enough to return my old screen protector and exchange it for a new one and install it for me.

glad they got you all taken care of. for the most part they have good people...there is the occasional bad apple tho

same for electronic items...some just fail.

let us all know if you have any other questions about your new evo!
