Root Extremely bad problems!!!

Don't root your phone if you have no idea what you are doing. I'm getting so tired of these threads.

You need to clear data/factory reset from recovery.

Then don't reply to them man. That's what the forums are for. Its made to help each other out. Some people have different ways of learning and you shouldn't shut em out for that. We should GROW as a community, and not grow into arrogance

With the phone off, plug in the AC charger. Does the charging icon come on?

If that doesn't work, with the phone off, plug it into your usb port. Does recovery come up (or charging icon)?

Charging via the USB port takes at least twice as long. I'd try to charge it like this for at least several hours/overnight before trying again.

I saw a post where the guy took a usb cable, stripped one end to get bare wires, removed his battery from his phone and used that to charge a battery.

Everyone:

If you try to flash the SBF to your phone with a low battery and your battery dies in the process, the phone will NEVER AGAIN CHARGE YOUR BATTERY.

Not for a few minutes, not for a few hours, not overnight, not out of the wall, not out of a USB port, not with green eggs and ham, no it will not Sam I Am.

You must get a fresh battery, charge your battery in another phone or in a wall charger, or do the aforementioned USB stripping trick to force the battery to charge.

if factory reset does not work.

put it in bootloader mode and flash the sbf.
with power off
hold volume down + camera + power for 3 seconds then let go.
you will be in bootloader mode.
plug in to usb open rsd lite and flash the sbf.

Have SBF'd many times and never had the bootloader loop on me, flashed it 3 times no luck. Never thought of the factory reset. Thx not one SBF thread I found had that info. Live and learn.

i'm gonna throw a big BS on this statement. I flashed the sbf on my friends X and mid process the phone died. all we had to do was plug the phone in the wall for about an hour and it charged up perfectly fine. Then we proceeded to flash the sbf again with no issue

Lets try to keep it friendly guys :) I would assume it depends on which part of the flashing process it died during. Dying during different parts of the flash could potentially cause different levels of problems.

I know this is an old post but I'm responding to it anyway.

We all know the phone won't charge in the bootloader.

If you wreck the software on the phone, ALL IT CAN DO is boot into the bootloader.

I'm very happy that your friend's phone happened to die before it corrupted the part of the software that controls the partial-boot which allows the phone to charge, but that's not always, or even most of the time, going to be the case.
