I have a Droid 2. Today I went to the market and downloaded a application called "Date and Time version 2.2" I also discovered a more manageable app and went to uninstall the first one...date and time version 2.2. The option to uninstall is there, but it not highlighted to uninstall. I went to manage applications and the same thing. I went to the market and to recent downloads, its not listed there. I went to AppBrain, it's not listed there. Then as I'm looking at the application itself...I notice the permissions. It has the typical permissions, but also says it can access applications that cost me money....directly call phone numbers, send sms msgs, edit/read/recieve my messages, create bluetooth connections, full net access, ACT AS ACCOUNT AUTHENTICATOR, us authentication credentials of an account, modify delete SD card contents, and lots of system tools control, and manage accounts. I just don't want it on my phone anymore and can't figure it out. My brother is way more savvy on this phone than I and he can't figure it out. I even removed the battery for 3 minutes to reboot....nothing. Any suggestions???

Well...now my phone has no service and the Date is 1969. I'm actually on the phone with Verizon to get it squared away. Tried to do a hard reset....it froze when I got to the yellow triangle. The interesting thing is that calendar app was from the Market. I wonder if the two are related....most likely. If that's the case, you'd think there would be a little better qualifications for apps on the market.
I also tried advanced task killer, uninstall and another app manager to try and uninstall the app. The App never shows up in any list....not even AppBrain. I guess it's a virus that is well hidden. IDK....we'll see.

Went o the app market and downloaded a couple of wallpapers and now the do not show up on the uninstall list. Have checked out other uninstallers to no avail. Any suggestions on how to get to the contents folder that they are contained in so I can delete from there?

I bet you are doing something wrong and checking the wrong place if everything you install does not show under installed apps.

Which Android version are you running?
