YES, stock android that will get all the updates? DO WANT!, hopefully the hardware is better the the GS in terms of specs (camera flash, camera button, light indicator) and better in terms of quality (GS feels kinda cheap), give me that and I will buy for sure.

I was hooked on Sense, but I've gone without it for several months now and I'm quite happy, so I'd definitely consider the Nexus 2. It really depends mostly on the hardware, I really want my next phone to be a dual core phone whether it be a dual-core Snapdragon, or the Tegra 2.

HTC made the N1.....

I dont think.. samsung can just change their MO...
we have all been hoping they learned from past....and did better with the GS.. but i have not seen any better support.

I was actually hoping that if there was a Nexus Two, it'd be made my Motorola. My Nexus One is just over half a year old, so I'll be keeping it for awhile I can't wait to hear the announcement on the 8th and hear what the Samsung phone is, lol.

I feel that HTC gives them quite a run for their money. The D2/DX and OG Droid are really quailty phones and well designed, but phones like the CLIQ, new square one with the spinout keyboard, and backflip are less than spectacular.

HTC has the same high-end/low-end contrast, but I wouldn't say that either is ahead of the other by any significant margin.

Do not want a Samsung phone. I love the thought of a Nexus 2 though. I've had a Samsung phone and TV crap out right at the 2 year mark, and a buddy of mine had his Samsung phone crap the bed. I don't trust them. Especially not after that GPS fiasco when the GS was launched. That should have been noticed and fixed before it was released. And while I would LOVE to see Motorola make the N2, I don't see that happening, they seem to like locking things down, and they couldn't do that with the N2.

I had a 30" Samsung flat tube HDTV, and the main board went out right after the warranty expired. I called a repair guy, and he called Samsung and they didn't have any parts available for that TV anymore. And it was only 2 years old! He called around and found the new mainboard and power supply somewhere else, but it would have cost me about $600 to repair. So instead, I got a 42" Toshiba LCD for $1100. Brand new, not a lot more expensive than repairing the other one, and both larger and smaller. Bigger screen, but thinner and lighter. Mix this experience with me and my friends phones, and I'm a little gun-shy about Samsung electronics.

With Samsung hardware which im pretty sure is the best in the world and no one can argue. Hopefully it will be a next gen Humming Bird like 2 ghz and 1gb ram and on board flash upwards of 32 gb , and also a really really good gpu( probs not happening but one can dream right lol)
And if its stock os like N1 , all the updates and just pure android free of bloatware.
I would very much like one.
Also i wish it isnt touch buttongs like the GS, you cant beat hard buttongs and also if N2 has a qwerty slideout im ditching my phone asap.

It's hard to argue with. Their quality on the other hand, is not.

The GS, by all rights, is the most advanced phone the market, in hardware terms at least. Now, as far as Samsung's build quality, support, and customer service is concerned, I'd rank them behind Moto and HTC.

If its the next Nexus device then obviously its supported by GOOGLE! geez smh people I mean really and to those saying Samsung doesn't make the best hardware then umm tell me a company whose screen is better than Super Amoled. Whose processor is really better than hummingbird? Humming bird is still doing great from what I hear they have just reached overclockage to 1.6ghz G2 can't do that(or in the least HASN'T) and I doubt Nexus One can or any HTC device, Moto has though but that is really the only competition Samsung has in this game. Samsung without a doubt makes the best mobile hardware.

Most peoples problem with samsung is software ones and being that a Samsung Nexus equates to stock android the problem is pretty much gone. I held the Vibrant in my hands its amazingly light but cheap? is definitely not. I think you guys get the build quality mixed up via the lightness of the device. Build Quality is much more than the materials used its about how much they can withstand and the screen alone has proven to survive more than the droid's I specifically remember someone dropping their original droid and cracks ensuing the screen, it took 5 drops for this phone to even show a scratch on the screen and it took a box cutter to scratch it. I would love for those who say Samsung's build quality sucks and then test it see how much it lasts.

With dual core Tegra 2 chips already available (recent release of tablets), I just can't help feel that the rumored 1.2ghz Hummingbird processor is already underpowered before it is even released. Motorola's Olympus is right around the corner, and I don't care if it's not Google's flagship phone.

Yeah I know that phones become obsolete as soon as you get them, but having a dual core cpu on your phone is too big of a jump to not wait at this point.

Quality is the key to good hardware. You can have all the technology you want packed into a phone, but if it feels cheap, breaks easily, and/or is shoddily built, then it's no good.

i have the captivate and i love that phone. the gps was an issue at times, but me personally, i hardly ever used the gps feature so it didn't bother me much. the lag however did, but that was an easy fix with OCLF. as far as build quality, i can't see anything wrong with the build quality of the captivate. it's light, feels right in my hand ("that's what see said"), and i've dropped that phone god knows how many times now. and NOTHING happened to the screen. only thing is a small scratch on the side of the phone that's BARELY visible. when i first got it i thought i'd have to be extremely careful with it b/c it was light and i thought it'd be flimsy. and it's SOO far from that. and you simply CANNOT beat the screen on this phone. it just feels so much more fluid to me than other phones. i've even had friends who have iPhone4 say how much nicer and responsive the screen is compared to theirs. the support was an issue with samsung. but they're trying to change that. and if google sponsors the phone with their own logo, their not gonna let it die down that easily. at least I don't think they would, and neither would samsung.

and the people (or just that one person) talking about the samsung tv issue. just to make it clear, samsung makes THE best tv's right now. i have a samsung 42" lcd and have had it for 2+ years now. works BEAUTIFULLY and no issues with what so ever.
