Root LeeDroid 2.2f

I Have a HTC desire which is on Froyo 2.2.

I have recently rooted the device which works great. Installed Titanium backup which works great also.

I now want to install the Leedroid rom. Will I be able to do this with no issues as I have the latest version of Froyo installed.

I have heard somewhere that I need to downgrade before I install this rom, is this correct?

Thanks

I am looking at installing a custom rom which is 2.2, I recently rooted my HTC Desire as I am sick of waiting for Virgin to release 2.2 via OTA, what is the best rom to use and whats is the best way to update my phone to a custom 2.2 rom.

there is no "best" rom as its down to your own preferences

use recovery to flash the zip

I used unrevoked to root, it was very simple but reading on here will help you understand what to do, I flashed with Leedroid 2.2d and it worked fine although I have now updated to 2.2f.

Once you are up and running make sure you do a nandroid backup and also get Titanium Backup and once you have everything set up how you like it run that.

The only issues I have had is with overclocking the cpu and making the fone unstable but all I did was run nandroid and it fixed everything.

One last thing there are really 2 types of rom, sense and non sense its up to you what you go for I chose Leedroid because I think sense is great.

Good luck

Depends if you want sense still or would like a vanilla android ROM?

I was using sense ROMS until about a week ago but slowly I started incorporating the android dialler and other bits into my sense ROMs as I preferred them. Realised last week I might as well just flash a vanilla ROM and have not looked back since. Also now I don't have any sense stuff installed I have about 40mb of extra space :D

Personally I would try with something like Teppic's rooted sense rom or LeeDroid, play around with it modding things and if you start to not use the sense stuff then try Vanilla.
