Lets discuss the best nightly combos with kernals and other things to make CM6 better.

I found that 9/24 nightly made things lag when you have the music player running. i've never experienced so much lag until I used my music player. Just a heads up. Great battery life. Was charged at 67 last night and woke up this morning and I'm at 16 percent and the Battery Info says it's been off the charger for 12 hours. Imagine if I was at 100 percent instead of 67. That's with the collins battery tweak with kernal 14

9/13 didn't give me a lot of freezes and restarts, but lately it started. I'm assuming this is because of jit maybe?

As a previous thread I made, the latest nightlys give you the ability to "swipe" your individual notifications instead of just pushing the "clear all" button. nice addition.

any other findings?

If you are going to try the uncapped BFS kernels from Dec, uncheck JIT, check compcache and then reboot phone

These settings may help with the uncapped stable kernels also

latest nightly build 10/03 eliminated lag when music played on 9/24

I gave up using my phone as a music player & got me another ipod. Plus I got 14k+ songs.

Anyway, I'm rocking the stable release (for about 3 weeks) At first the battery sucked (averaged about 7 hours according to juice plotter) then the day I decided to flash back to a nightly, it jumped to 13 hours. Also my benchmark went from 1.XX to 4.98. I believe the improvements occured after I got rid of the battery tweak but don't quote me. Also, flashing the ramzswapko09282010 stable upcapped kernal seemed to help too. Don't remember if I flashed it before or after I got rid of the battery tweak. This morning I took my phone off the charger at 5:45. At 7am it was still at 100%. That has NEVER happened before & that was after I checked some emails & updated the NY Times. It took a lot of battery wipes (did them everyday for a week) & even reinstalled the stable a couple of times. No idea why I'm so gun ho with making this stick but so far it seems my persistance paid off.

Got a little of topic.

So to recap...

Stable release of 2.2
ramzswapo092810 stable uncapped kernal
JIT is enabled, compcache & surface dithering are not.

I'm still going to go back to nightlies & try different configs.

In the newer kernels from Dec, enable the compcache instead of flashing the ramzswap

Looks like the trackball doesn't allow you to take pictures anymore with the 10/3 nightly. think it was first encountered around 9/28

gallery has become much faster as well!

10/3 has an error whenever you download something from the market, it just hangs there. have been trying to download apps and they aren't downloading. they just sit at the download or install screen

in case anybody is wondering..the latest nightly builds aren't working..or at least that's what i'm hearing..101 isn't working i believe..but i have 103 right here. and it's pretty fast..and stable! also..the gallery has been updated..SUPER FAST!! enjoy :)

cm_heroc_full-103.zip

"Now, this is not the official 103 release since the 102 failed and 103 is still not auto compiled (or at least attempted). So make sure to refer to it as a 102.5 release or something in case 103 actually compiles tonight so we all don't get confused Also, this is technically the first 6.1 release we got but it is also unofficial since there is no stable release yet."~obsanity from xda

Ive gatta disagree with that. Im running 6.1 and my phone is usually off the charger from abut 7am till 11pm and it very rarely hits yellow. If anything, my battery life has improved, and to add thats running email and the lpp facebook widget thats updating every hour. I havnt even thought about flashing a new nightly since the 6.1 stable. Been on it a week or so now with no problems at all
