Root Backflip locking up during Motoblur service

All of a sudden my phone started acting funny the other day and would not respond to touch. So I rebooted (off -remove battery -on) but now it comes up with :
"Sorry ! Application Home (in process com.motorola.blur.home) is not responding." <Force Close>, <Wait>....
I can't start anything except Browser and Search via the ATT globe on Keyboard. I will not allow me to go to settings or any other app. I reflashed the original factory ROM but same things happen again. But if I turn off my WiFi it recovers and functions normally albeit with no network access. I am thinking about disabling MotoBlur by resetting to Factory Fresh ROM mode and skipping the Blur account setup. My question is would the functionality be reduced if I skip the Blur setup?
I read somewhere that when it's reflashed, just pressing Menu and choosing Skip account setup will not install Motoblur. Is this correct? Any help is appreciated.

Hi! Here you go...

IMPORTANT!

Flash your phone back to the stock firmware before updating. Make sure to back-up any data that you want to save. This will erase everything on your phone. You will lose root.

Download the file here: Blur_Version.3.0.1390.MB300.ATT.en.US.zip - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download

Follow these instructions for the update:

1. Charge your phone fully. This could take up to 40 minutes.
2. Copy the file you downloaded to the root of your SD card (not inside any folder), and make sure it stays named "Blur_Version.3.0.1390.MB300.ATT.en.US.zip." or it won't work. Sometimes Windows likes to add to the file type extension, so double check.
3. On your phone, tap the menu key > Settings > About Phone > System Updates and look for the update. Your Backflip should find it, install it, and reboot.

When you restart (this process may take a while!) you should be running Android 2.1.

You will have to re-root your phone again after this process.
