Super AMOLED screens on HTC phones

Does anyone know if any of the new HTC phones coming out this christmas/1st quarter will have a Super AMOLED screen?

I held up a droid x next to a fascinate the other day and the fasc. blew the x's screen out of the water IMO... the colors looked faded on the X

Some HTC phones will be using SLCD (comparatively good to SAMOLED) screen tech.

I have to disagree on this. SLCD is an 18-bit panel, compared to the true 24-bit of SAMOLED. I do like, however, that SLCD doesn't use the PenTile Matrix array. But I'm not too impressed with SLCD. I'll take Moto's panels for their overall balance and accuracy over SLCD.

But I am an AMOLED fan, and Samsung's SAMOLED is the current king of the hill in that regard. Once they can make enough for other OEMs, we'll see them used on non-Samsung phones.

SLCD ~= AMOLED
SAMOLED > Most Everything.

That might help a bit.

The only problem is that your statement is not true. Examples:

The Droid 1's display features true 24-bit color, RGB color accuracy within 2% of perfect (ever so slightly under saturated), decent contrast of about 1k (true contrast), and respectable response time and viewing angles. It truly is an excellent display, not just mobile.

The AMOLED on the Incredible is 16-bit color, RGB is grossly oversaturated (30%+), which gives it that vibrant look, ungodly contrast, and near perfect response time and viewing angles.

SLC is 18-bit, grossly over saturated to make it look like AMOLED (over 30%), decent contrast at best but not as good as the Droid's, respectable response time and viewing angles.

If you're going for accurate picture quality, it's:
Droid LCD > SAMOLED > AMOLED > SLCD

If you're going for a vibrant picture, it's:
SAMOLED > AMOLED > SLCD > Droid LCD

I'll take the Droid, but I know a lot of people are in love with the over saturated AMOLED look of today.
