Help Foryo battery life and usage display

Since installing Froyo, and also doing a factory reset, my battery life seems much worse.

Also when I check what has been using the battery there are not as many apps displayed, typically just 'Display' and 'Cell Standby' even though I have used the web browser, wifi and Angry Birds.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Maybe the battery needs recalibrating with the new firmware?

I've Spent a long time checking out usage, and osmonitor shows sensorserver is constantly set at 4% cpu.
My screen is not on auto brightness, gps is off -so why is it using cpu?
Can somebody on 2.1 check if they see the same? Look at processes and sort by cpu, then scroll down.
Can this be related to the new gps enhancement, which uses sensors, even though it is turned off?

After installing Froyo, based on my test today I find the battery has been better for me.

I had my phone plugged in all night, and i unplugged it around 1pm. ate lunch, went into the office at 2pm. Got onto the wifi network there, but a moderately light day of usage. maybe only 10-15 SMS, and occasionally browsing on facebook, twitter. Searched for maybe 2-3 images online using the web browser. Updated someone's contact information.

Additionally, I have Lookout (antivirus) installed. I'm running both Pingchat, Whatsapp, and Google talk. I do have google voice installed though I haven't used it today. Most of the messaging apps I only sent about 3 messages off each one and received about the same today.

My Battery usage screen reports that I've used about 89% on my display, about 5% on Wi-Fi, about 4% on Cell standby, and 2% on Phone idle.

It's been 8h 20ms since I've unplugged it and I still have 57% of my battery remaining.

Much better than my total of 10.5 - 11 hours on Eclair 2.1. Though again, my wifi/browsing usage was minimal today. Didn't do much calendaring as well today.

So far I'm happy! I didn't need to calibrate anything!

Seriously. I'm so impressed.

to continue with my usage for today. I took maybe 2-4 pictures with my camera. Sent 1 picture to my friend via whatsapp, another via email. I've been chatting and updating contact book information on WiFi for over 3 hours now. like actually holding a 3 hour google chat conversation with my friend overseas. Had a brief 5 minute chat with a friend via voice. My audio ringers are on, I'm not on silent or vibrate mode.

So far my updated stats are:

Display: 91%
Wi-Fi: 4%
Cell standby 3%
Voice calls: 2%
Phone idle: 1%

I'm at 1 percent battery life right now. and it has been 13h 25m since unplugged.

This is seriously the longest my phone has ever run for. Last time it was just under 9 hours. now over 13 hours.

I hope other people have this experience and this isn't an isolated incident.

the one thing that amazes me is the massive usage of the screen on the battery as per you guys readouts, my screen only every uses about 30%

Is that becasue you don't use the screen as much, or are you makinga lot of calls / in a poor signal area? What are you other percentages?

Since 2.2 the inbuilt battery use only shows a high level display with some items missing e.g. GPS test and Angry Birds!
