LOL, thats the truth. Every time I go into VZW or walk past a kiosk in the mall and talk to them, I educate their "tech support" about my Incredible. I truly believe that if I ever needed to return it for any reason, I wouldn't do anything differently other than flash a stock ROM to it just to see if they'd even realize it was rooted. I don't even think most know where to look to see if it is.

I believe that technically they can not void your warranty for root if the part that failed has nothing to do with your phone being rooted (hardware problems, etc).. I'm sure they would anyway though.

i think the problem is that they'll try and blame rooting regardless of what is actually wrong..

"oh your speaker is blown? yeah rooting it must have caused that."

dude , they tried to say the problem last time with my speaker was caused because i was not using a verizon cover. i laughed at them! had a replacement the next day. now with the s-on download, do i just dowload the file and place it on the sd and let it do its thing? im all stock now besides the s being on. thanks!

I have not flashed my incredible to s-on yet but my evo was flashed through bootloader after going back to stock (un rooted). I assume its the same here.

well its not a pb31img file so perhaps you do flash through recovery.
must not have paid much attention when i did the evo lol.

...yeah according to Unrevoked website it has to be done through clockwork, unless you can rename the file to pb31img.zip and flash it in hboot, but I doubt that would work because it's probably not signed.

Once again correct. You can't load it as an IMG file (on the DI) due to the lack of an official signature. Need the chicken before the egg...or was it the other way around? :D

You may have remembered right lafester idk...the EVO has some extra voodoo in it's bootloader compared to the DI.
