Help Market (and now Voicemail) Issues on my wife and I's phones...

Alright, Ive got a launch Evo, and I just bought my wife one of her own about a week ago. When we were setting up her phone and trying to download things from the market, I noticed that it was all just hanging there not downloading. I've found that lots of others are also having this problem, but with hardly any working fixes out there.
I've tried everything on both phones... clearing cache and data for download manager...batter pull and restart...even went so far as to do a full restore on her phone and it STILL just hangs there, then randomly begins downloading everything in queue all at once... I'd heard that there was an update for the market out there, but I havent been able to find and update/apk or even find out what version is on our two phones currently...

Now today, I got a call and they leave a voicemail... but rather than going to my visual voicemail, I get a notification that it was unable to be downloaded (dont remember the actual message)
When you pull down the notification bar, it says "Voicemail Pending: Tap here to call voicemail" which I did, listened to the voicemail and deleted it. The notification still remains after 2 restarts.
I go to the visual voicemail app and it has a big grey notification that says "You have a new voicemail that cannot be downloaded. Call for new voicemail"

Ive tried a few things that are supposed to fix this...
I composed a message on both phones to activate@vvm.sprint.com and sent it to make sure everything was registered.
I composed a message on each phone to the other phone and sent it, as people have said that would make it have to connect to the voicemail server and get things rolling... it didnt.
All the messages are stuck in "undelivered messages" and when I try hitting the "retry sending all" button, I get a message that says "Voicemail: Error V30: voicemail will be delivered when data service becomes available"
Web browsing and email have always (and still do) work flawlessly on both phones, so I know that date service isnt an issue... just for the hell of it, I tried connecting to wifi and it still wont work...

So yeah..umm...WTF? lol

**update**
I just turned wifi on on both phones and boom, all the pending voicemails were sent/recieved to both phones...

I am having the same issue as you are, just started today. Also my Gmail account wont connect, voicemail icon will not go away, marketplace wont open up.

My phone is rooted and has been for awhile and I have done no updates since then. Is anyone else having the same problems??

I suppose I should add my specs also... im on a launch phone, stock Sense...

Gmail is working for me, but browsing to google.com isnt. all other sites ive tried work... just no google.com and no visual voicemail...

Just got off the phone... we tried everything short of restoring the phone (as I had just done that to my wifes phone before calling) and still nothing. He put in a ticket, and told me I would be contacted by one of the engineers within 72hrs...

Time will tell on this one..

Same issue here, launch day EVO, stock rom. Late email notifications, market has been down all day, sync issues, google site won't load, weather location not available, google business email server down as well. What is going on lately, never had this many issues in one day.

Something has been f*ed up with Sprint and the Evo starting as early as Saturday night. Effecting some areas, not all, some times, some not, some phones, not all. I cant find an official "statement" from Sprint, but it's happening to a lot of people and a lot of phones. Rolling data outages or something like that.

Same problems here. I'm in the Detroit area and have been having problems doing Google searches, using visual voicemail, and with the Market not downloading apps until its choosing. I switched from my BlackBerry Tour on Saturday.

Not sure about your areas, but Sprint's Detroit towers have had issues for years. Slow, unpredictable data is the norm here, but this is ridiculous!

I am no expert. At all. I've just been reading several forums and the common theme is that some Sprint is having evo issues right now.

As a former BB user myself, I hope you'll appreciate the humor in this:

just for grins, try the old standard BB fix - turn the phone off, pull the battery, restart.

Cant hurt and might help ;)

But seriously...I really think it might be Sprint. Trying calling them, see what they say.

Haha. Actually, that's exactly why I got rid of the BB. Each time it froze (every day) I had to do a soft reset. The phone took about 10 minutes to come back on. Very annoying...

Anyway, battery pull on the Evo doesn't seem to resolve this. You're probably right. Looks like I've got a date with tech support :D

I think there are two separate issues occurring. For the past 5 days I have had major intermittent issue with the sprint network. 3g, 4g ...haven't been left any voicemails, also have not received the recent vm update. 3g internet has worked on and off... text and calls are great (except the few hours that text went down saturday night) 4g speeds have been absolutely horrible...in 6 different coverage areas, one of which was in a 4g demo/kiosk by sprint. this issue also seems to affect the market, as you are using the web to do that.

In addition to that I have seen the gmail issue and server issues on google's part. extremely hit or miss and has been going on for about 3 weeks now.

My hopes is that they are simply experiencing some growing pains and that we will see resolution soon!

Having the same issue in South Florida, called Sprint this morning and they told me there are no outages so they are either not paying attention or not filling in their tech support on the issues. I actually did get the canned support response of please power your phone off and pull the battery. That pretty much ended the call.

I have noticed that if people lead into this conversation with Gmail/market those are third party apps...sprint will not be concerned with those issues..
however if you lead in with network connection/internet issues some people have got further that way.

ok I was able to resolve this issue by switch to Wi-Fi and the message come in within a minute and my location was able to update correctly. so my assumption is that there is a issue with Spring data service not fully up and voicemail have a long delay to downloading to the phone.

This helped me so much! However, I'm still having issues with certain websites loading, and some of the apps I have downloaded working as well...I'm glad to know there are other people having the same issues...
