I currently have an iphone 3g and am going to be switching to an android device. I use google maps quite a bit on my iphone and over the past couple years I have accumulated a lot of bookmarked locations that I have saved on my phone. My question is, is there a way to sync all the locations I have saved on my iphone to my new phone? Or am I going to have to add all the bookmarked locations manually? Thanks

Never used Google map bookmarks before. Are they tied to your google account? Can you see them on your computer?

I am not sure how google maps works on android phones, but on the iphone, you can drop pins and save locations. There is then a "bookmarks" tab on the bottom of google maps that saves all the locations of the dropped pins. I fish a lot of rivers with various people and am always finding new spots and save them. It would just be a PITA to have to manually enter all of them. I was hoping there was a way to send them to a gmail account or something. They do not show up on my computer, just on my iphone

Got to Google Maps and log in to your Google account. Click on "My Maps" ... if your locations are there, then they will sync to your new phone. If not, you may have to "star" the locations. Don't have an iPhone to check this out right now.

I can actually email them from my iphone to my gmail account and save them in "my maps". Thanks for the help. Google is quite a useful tool for many many things:) I look forward to getting my captivate or aria. Thanks again
