Help Battery Life

I seem to be losing around 20% of the battery with out hardly any use in half hour after a full charge. I have my emails pushing through to the phone and bloo (facebook app) pushing every 20 mins.

Is this normal for the Droid? My 3GS has better battery life than that and I hate the 3GS battery life.

Should note I'm running 2.0 not 2.0.1. I'm in the UK and our update has not come through yet :-( (I could post on the Milestone forums but there the same phone so its pointless and more people post here)

Thanks

I had a full battery charge earlier. It went down to 90% after just a few minutes of scrolling through wallpapers on the Backgrounds app. That's a bit fast. My battery results aren't consistent. I had my screen set to time out after 30 seconds but the display used 70% of the battery within 12 hours, I'd say. It normally uses around 50% when I have the screen timeout set to 1 or 2 minutes. I'm just doing what's been suggested: Charging the battery fully and then letting it run down. After doing this 2 or 3 times, I've read (on this forum) that the battery life starts to improve. I guess I'll soon find out.

Have you tried calibrating the phone / battery? Search this forum and there are quite a few people who have found that the battery life seems to improve if you fully charge the phone and then let it fully discharge - until it switches off, then charge it back up. I think you need to do a 'full cycle' like this once every month or two, otherwise, the phone can't accurately detect how far discharged the battery is.

Personally, I had success with the same technique on my previous Nokia N97 and have tried it with the Milestone... so far battery life is looking ok...

Before the 2.0.1 update my droids battery life wasn't that bad but it wasn't good, id average mabe 6hours of lite use an idle. Now that I updated its almost like I bought an extended battery for it I started my heavy use and I definetly get 14 hours or more. Pretty much two days for every one charge. I'm happy with my droids battery performance. I don't use a task killer either.

I use a task killer and I'm running 2.0 till I get hold of 2.0.1. Done a full discharge and charged back up before but I've done that again now so hopefully that will help. Hope Google push out the update soon cause I want a better battery life with this device. It's going to be a phone killer for me if it cant last its own with general use.
