New to the Droid world

I just picked up my new Fascinate and am loving the Droid World. Lots of ins and outs, but enjoying every moment. I have looked over the forums and can tell this is a great family to become a part of. I did have a few questions...I have charged my battery with my phone off and when I turn it back on an annoying beep continuously rings. Have popped the battery and played with a few buttons and finally the ringing stops. Anyone know why this happens? Secondly, I got an extended battery but cannot locate a cover that will work...any ideas? Lastly, has there been any official word on when Froyo will be released for the Fascinate? I thank everyone in advance.

Does the phone beep with the new extended battery? Or with the original battery?

Where did you get the extended battery from? Was it a Samsung battery? Or a third party?

It happens with both batteries-did get extended from Samsung. Now I don't shut off my phone, I charge leaving it on.

If it's beeping constantly then you likely have an error with the phone. Can you still physically communicate with the phone while it's beeping? It might be worth doing a master reset on the phone to see if that clears the error. If you do a master reset it will wipe everything from the phone so you'll lose any settings and other information already stored on the phone.

I believe you can find the master reset function in the App drawer... under settings -> Privacy -> Master Data Reset.

Otherwise you may want to call tech support on the phone...
