Is there a better mail app than Maildroid?

I have both a personal and business Yahoo email account. Up to now, I have accessed my personal account on my Incredible using the Yahoo Mail app. That was up through version 1.0.4. Seems in the past 24 hours they came out with a "new" version, 1.2, and it has problems with configurations as I cannot access my personal Yahoo email account on my Incredible. When I try to log in, it tries to tell me, "Bizmail accounts are not supports". Well, that is great, but I am not trying to access my business account.

Anyways, I have had enough of everytime they come out with a new version it has one problem after another.

Besides Maildroid, is there a better email app or is it the best to go with?

K-9 is pretty much considered the standard to date. It's not perfect, but it suits my needs well enough.

I had k-9 also and liked it but when i found maildroid I was in heaven. i've been using it for several weeks and have found it performs far above and beyond k-9 for me. I'm on the samsung fascinate.

K9 has it's shares of issues, and is worth about what you pay for it. I'll check out Maildroid.

Another vote for MailDroid here. I also tried K-9 and some others before settling on MailDroid. It's a great app, with an ugly icon!

Profimail i think beats them all hands down, i had this on my old nokia and saw they had released it for Android, tried the trial version and then brought it afterwards as its great.

It might be a good app, but $25 is very steep for any mainstream app such as an email client.

I think its well worth the money, but i would advise people to try the trial first and see if they are happy with it before buying

I've had a major issue with Maildroid lately.

When I open up an e-mail, it loads up the wrong e-mail. Not sure why its doing it either

Please, don't hit me. But why are you guys looking for a mail app besides the built in mail app? What features are you longing for?

Reason I ask is I had been running the built in email app as well as the gmail app for quite some time. I began to tinker with K9 Mail and MailDroid when I decided I wanted them more integrated together. Kind of like how I have Thunderbird with 3 accounts set up on my laptop, except in an Android mail app.

K9 Mail would send duplicates of every single email I sent. That got axed right away.

MailDroid was okay and did the job, no real issues there.

But then when I was deleting my accounts on my other mail apps I had previously used, I realized, oh wow I can have multiple accounts on the default built in email app?

So I set it up, and now I'm extremely happy with my accounts going to 1 setup. And to think it was with the default mail app... My only minor quarrel is I can't change the color coding, but that's far better than having duplicate emails sent...

EDIT - After seeing more positive reviews about K9 on Google, I decided to give it another shot. Here's my problem. I have my work email set up with K9. That's it. If I send an email, it comes FROM my personal account. Yet I only have my WORK email set up with K9.

EDIT II - Seems as if I need to have BOTH accounts unchecked for being the default account. Then it works fine.

The stock email client has a fatal flaw. Search "email stuck in android outbox". This goes back to 1.6 in 2010 and persists in my Verizon Galaxy Nexus. I tried unsuccessfully to install K-9, it does not seem to be compatible with my work 2007/2010 Exchange (EWS) server. I installed Maildroid easily, upgraded to Pro and then found out I could not search my online contact database (30k+ entries). The stock client does a great job with the database, but will not sync the outbox if I am am away from the company router. Right now there does not seem to be a good solution available for my situation and that definitely sucks.

I used K9 for about a year and just switched to Gmail through my browser (no app!). Since I use Gmail through Firefox at work, it's very similar. My company email, Gmail, and Yahoo are all feed to Gmail. Everything is on Gmail servers and easy to get to. My biggest problem with K9 was it wouldn't delete mail from the Gmail server when something was deleted. The mobile Gmail browser page has improved recently (or it just works a lot better in Xscope).
