From BB Torch to Droid Pro

Hi from a BB Convert. I have a Nexus One now, and ordered my Droid Pro so I'll try to answer best I can:

With the release of Froyo is it possible to get a days worth of moderate/medium use out of the phone without having to recharge the battery?
Yes.

Is there any reason to expect the Droid Pro will have better battery life than other Android phones?
Perhaps. Screen size is smaller, so it might guzzle less power.

Android itself wont sync tasks- but seems moto has pretty heavily tweaked the built in email app with the droid pro based upon what the moto website says.

so it MIGHT also sync tasks directly to exchange- but i wouldn't hold my breath.

For me, I use one of the many gtasks apps in the market and then use google tasks rather than the outlook tasks.

you'll need to set up a gmail account if you dont have one already so for me it's not a hardship.

Probably. Depends on what you have automatically updating and your settings (I.e. Screen brightness, screen timeout, etc.)

Yes. I think so. It doesn't have as big of a screen and it's not a sAMOLED so that should equate to slightly better battery life.

i have the same wishes as the person who started this thread. i love the keyboard for quick communication and also desire apps and widgets that bb does not afford me. My concern is that i have read several reviews that say that email on droid is not as fast in arriving to your phone as it is on bb and that outlook contacts and calender do not sync easily. are these things true?

If mobile email is the heart of your daily business life, then it would be better to go with the BB, but otherwise the Moto Pro is the way to go!!

I have been thinking about switching to the Pro. Have they improved facebook notifications? They were always sporadic on my Evo.

I have tried the Eris, Devour, D1, D2, and X....With me being a heavy texter, I wanted one that didnt have the slider, and yet I dont even like the onscreen of the X.... Im hoping my Pro that will be here in a few will fix that... Im giving up screen for speed and ease of keyboard...

For anyone concerned about battery life I strongly recommend getting the extended battery and back cover from Verizon ($49). If you are a moderate user (phone calls, email, txt and web browsing) you're probably going to need it to get through a day without the need to recharge. I am a moderate user and it has increased by battery life by 30-35%...more than enough to get me through the day without needing to recharge. The extended battery and back cover will change your phones appearance a little (almost eliminates the "hump" around the camera) but most cases/holsters etc will still work with the Pro.
