I've just got of the phone with T mobile, and they have told me they no longer intent to supply the Desire Hd.
I had been waiting for over a week for delivery of mine and have just phoned them up with regards to when it will arrive. I was told it is being dropped due to htc poor supply. Now I'm in a quandry he told me of the standard desire and the galaxy S but never spoke of plans. What to do, I do not know. I really need to know will others be doing the same.

I'm getting really concerned that this phone is not going to take off with all these problems and now that providers thinking of dropping the phone. If this is the case then surely the DHD will be a less priority when it comes to updates due to the small amount of people owning the phone.
I'm also wondering that the new batches will be much more improved with no screen or Sim cover issues and we're be left with the sh!t ones.

I'm starting to wish I had waited abit longer before getting this phone

Well, the plot thickens!
I have just phoned up T mobile again and spoke to a different CS advisor and they have stated after consultation with their manager that they are still stocking the desire HD. I was then told thet the previous advisor is to be spoken to, and the concern is how many customers he has told that the phone is no longer to be carried.
So, the game is back on. and I'm still on the pre order list.
Bloody hell!

but not actual problems with the handset itself?

really want this phone!

There have been a few software niggles. I don't think the lag some people have seen has been properly fixed yet but HTC have already released two OTA updates with bug fixes so they can probably be trusted on this front.

It has been suggested (though not substantiated) that HTC are having production/quality issues. That, if true, might be more of a problem.

Seems like some negative comments regarding this phone.

Had mine for over 2 weeks and had no real problems. Battery has rubbish at first, but after a few days works alot better and I get over a day of normal/high use.

Build quality of the phone is very high. No issues with battery or sim cover. Although I can see how these would break if forced on incorrectly.

Minor software glitches - but to be expectd with any smartphone. Atleast HTC have released weekly updates so far.

I see this phone being the number 1 high end selling phone for the next 6 months. Stock issues are to be expected with such a product. Its been available for 3/4 weeks now and demand was high from day one. First come, first served.

T-Mobile will not stop selling this phone. I think you were advised incorrectly so that the sales person could persade into a different phone just to get a sale.

as far as the phone is concerned.... it has been a dream, its a big boy's version of the Desire. and i'm glad htc released some updates already...

keep scouring guys, i'm sure there are still a few dhd's to be had!

Problems?..I've only been away here for a week and I cannot see any further problems?

In relation to T-Mob not stocking them anymore..Can't see that happening. I'm no T-Mob rep, but they would lose money by pulling out. They have to bid for a contract with HTC to ship the phone, They won't throw it away for the hell of it.

Iv had mine for 10 days so far...not a problem with anything.....i can honestly say that after having a load of the the latest phones on or very soon after the release date, ever since nokia released the matrix phone(been so long cant remember the model),right through to the iphone 4...the DHD is by far the best phone iv ever had,its size, froyo, build quality just everything about this phone is great,i prefer the touch buttons on the HD rather than the physical buttons on the standard desire(couldnt get the nexus when i got the desire),its just a great phone in so many ways, and what with HTC sorting out the glitches really quickly i think proves that they intend to keep this phone as there number one,at least for the next 6 months..lol

I don't get all of you guys banging on about the supply problems. There has been a hughe take up from what I hear. Pretty much every new phone released has stocking issues after the first few batches. They still have to make their remaining models too ya know ;p

My nokia N900 was delayed for 4 months from the original release date. Problems werent fixed for 2/3 months and subsequent stock or repairs were a nightmare. I actually think HTC have done pretty well with supply and updates of the Desire and the DHD (having had both from day 1).
