Help Got the "not enough memory" notification. Mail is using 86mb? HELP

Does anyone have any suggestions of how to reduce the size of the HTC mail program? I have deleted all of my email. It is still at 86mb.

Try going into Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> select the HTC mail app (I'm doing this from memory as I don't have my Eris with me at the moment, but look at the amount of Cache this app is using and it should be somewhat in-concert with the 86MB value you mentioned) -> Clear cache (not Clear data).

Well, I see the obvious solution, but I don't know what the consequences of clearing that data are...

The solution would be obvious if there was an obvious way to delete the data. However, the button that is there for many of the other programs, is not for this one. Completely blank. There seems to be no way to change this. ARGH!

I'm just guessing - try deleting the account(s) and add it/them back again?

I'd also suggest trying out the third-party app K-9 Mail as a replacement, just to see if it works out better for you.
