Root ROM Manager not working

I kind of figured ROM manager was a clockwork thing but after I flashed the latest MIUI build and the English pack #2 it started to boot into Amons recovery instead of clockwork. And yes I didn't change my recovery to Amoni it even said on the program that clockwork. 2. 5. 0. 1 was my recovery. But that wasnt the worst part.Now when I try to flash one of my other Rom backups it says Rom manager has superuser permissions but then it just sits there. I finally was able to get into clockwork... did a backup via My backup pro, but I couldn't do a restore of one of my saved Roms manually it gives a MD 5 or a MIDI 5 mistake something like that. Any ideas???

what is your hboot version? have you taken an ota update? have you manually updated your hboot version? that could be your issue

I don't remember doing an update. How do I find the hboot version? Is it in recovery or under settings?

are you trying to flash a clean rom or a nandroid back up of your previous rom?

clean rom shouldn't matter which recovery you use and you have some other issue

nandroid backups can only be flashed with what they were created with.

to get to your hboot, power off, hold vol down and power and that will get you to the eng bootloader or hboot. i had a similar problem when i updated my my bootloader/hboot also which recovery did you make the nandroid backup with?

I have kept a few favorite Roms to switch back and forth between and sometimes I can upgrade without a full data wipe. They are all backupsthat were made with Rom manager now nada

Its hboot 0. 93. 0000 it started after I flashed the latest MIUI Rom and the English pack 2 I went back to Myns Rls3 stock With all of the new updates on the Roms because of the recent 3. 30 ota I wanted to keep my saved Roms current

when you flashed miui, it flashed the .93 hboot, you may need to downgrade to the .70 hboot and you should be ok. ALL EVO Hboot versions in flashable zips - xda-developers

go to the site and download flashable evo hboot zips and extract files use the pc36img.zip under hboot 0.76.00, size should be 214,370 put it on the root of your sdcard and boot to bootloader update and you should be good to go.

Wake you are the man! Whenever I go to the hboot screen it asks if I want to update. I was worried it would mess up my root. Should I go ahead and let it update?

Wake thank you. How do I extract the files from the files you showed me? I mean with Astro it has an extract function but do I extract it to which directory? Thanks again

Hi Wake,

When I downloaded the file (twice) because when I open the file there is nothing in it. I am using Astro Pro. I have other apks that should work but I can't find anything under the file name in the xda link that you sent me. I have ES File Explorer (paid version), Root Explorer (paid version) and Andro Zip Pro. Would any of these work better than Astro Pro. The file name is flashable_evo_hboot_zips.rar Do I need to rename the file? Whenever I try to extract it will give me the option to extract to this directory or another but I'm fairly certain it needs to be on the root of the sd card, right? The file size is 23.7 kb. Oh yeah after i went into hboot and did the update ROM Manager updated but I still can't bring back the saved Rom backups. When i boot into recovery via clockworks Rom manager, I wipe the cache and dalvik twice and then when I go into nandroid, restore to flash the saved backup it says

"checking MD5 sums...
md5 mismatch!"

I hope this helps with the diagnosis or explains what I may be doing wrong.

Do you have access to a pc? that would make this so much easier. I use es exclusively. you are getting an md5 mismatch because if the diff hboot versions. MD5 is computed by the system to make sure the file is not corrupt, diff hboot versions will calculate the md5 differently giving different outcomes. do you remember what version your hbboot was when you rooted? if so, i can pm the correct version for you so you will be good to go.

That's what it says on the white screen with the three little android robots on skateboards...uh at the top where the s off is. I did the power button and volume down to get to that screen.

I rooted back in mid August. I picked up my first evo on july 5...do to an old problem with my google email account that had since been resolved...I had replaced my evo july 16. heck I think that hboot is the same hboot since I rooted.

The problem was when I made a backup of my myn rom I misnamed it so even though I thought I was restoring a different rom, I actually wasnt restoring a different rom I was just restoring myn again. What an idiot thanks to wade69 and mr ed you guys rock!
