Root Google canceled email and now phone does not work right.

Well as implied by the Message Google killed the primary email adress on my Brother inlaws phone.
We Know our options but were wondering if there was a way for you to get rid of your primary Gmail without having to data factory reset. He wants to not lose all of his Apps and all that.
If there is No way to do this besides wait on Google to get back to him then I have ways of getting him Mostly back. Just curious for some ideas.... Has anyone evef heard about goggle shuttin down anemail withnout probable cause?

Try Settings > Accounts & sync > (your email address) > Remove account


then i guess set up another haha

Well that was our first idea as well. However the OS will not allow you to "remove" the original account... no matter if you put an additional account on or not.

As of right now I have him rooted and have all of his apps backed up with Titanium Backup.
Unfortunately he does not have Launcher Pro... So if we end up having to go that route he is going to lose all of his Icons.

I am just trying to minimize his loses.

Can anybody help?

Lose all of his icons? Do you have custom icons downloaded?

No Let me explain what I meant. Sorry

He has the stock 5 home screens. He has all of his apps set up the way he wants them on those 5 home screen.

If he had Pro Launcher We could back up his home screens in the exact way they are set up right now.

Not a biggy once we put on his apps with Titanium Backup he will just have to place them on his home screen again.

He will lose his contacts as they are linked to a specific google account.

yeah thats a good idea well export his contacts....the only thing is it wont keep his contact pictures.

Update.....

Before we ever fixed his phone.
His Google Mail got turned back on and everything works again. LOL weird.
