I just removed the DC ROM that I was using and installed the .6 Sprint Stock 2.1 ROM and rooted it With the grand help of this forum. It really does all that I want in my phone but I missed the XDA HTC_MOD Keyboard w/smileys. After some research on XDA I found that for this phone I needed the LOW RES. version of this keyboard. Here is the link for The instructions and where to download the .zip file to get the job done.

[MOD] HTC_IME (8th June) v27: Small fix - xda-developers

The process was very straight forward on the unzip and install but I ran into trouble getting the keyboard to actually start on my phone. When they say to "kill" the keyboard.

Here are the instructions that worked for me:

"You don't need to kill the keyboard to enable it, but there is an option at the bottom of this keyboards settings menu for "Kill Keyboard" and that's what it's referring to."

"After you have enabled it you need to select this as your active keyboard. Go to any screen you can type in (compose a new text message for example) and long press in the text input box. Select choose input method, then select the HTC_IME mod."

These instructions worked very well in combination to the link above.
Good luck with this and it's a great keyboard for a rooted phone........

Here is what you do, email them to yourself from your cell phone, then go to your email from your PC. open email with images and right click on the image and copy link location, then add that link location in the little picture icon on top of the thread, put your cursor over those icons it will say insert image, and that will insert the image into the thread

Good Morning Gentlemen...........
I'm glad you liked these instructions. I took some Shootme screen shots but when I try to upload them they are the wrong size of something like that.

But anyway the forums keep us all going..........

Have a fine day...... Lisa

I have the pictures in a folder on my PC now. I have been going through "edit" "advanced" "file management" I click on the image that I want to put in and this is the error message that I get. This is from the Android Forum page too:

snap20101110_123335.png:
The Dimension limits for this filetype are 620 x 280. We were unable to resize your file so you will need to do so manually and upload it again. Your file is currently 320 x 480.

So I'm close but just can't resize it?
The pictures are very cool and would add to that thread if I could just get them to upload.

I don't really understand the instructions you sent me here but this is how I have been doing it. As they say "close but no cigar".

We cannot see the pictures here, upload them in a new post, do this, scroll to the bottom of the new post and look for where it says manage attachments, and upload the images from there from your PC, then I will download them and enter them in a post for you after that

I added the four links to the bottom of the post of where I gave the instructions on how to install the keyboard. Probably about six posts above this one. When you click on the link you are asked to log into gmail and then you can see the pictures. At least I can see the pictures.
