Gee, just to make this clear to apple hater's many iDevice users (like me) HATE APPLE in alot of ways. This is what apple did to us.

App Store
- NO TWEAKS!!!!!
- Many paid apps. We dont buy iDevices for paid apps.

System
- NO MEMORY CARD!!!!! <--- I cant help with it. 8gb is too little for me.
- Every update, they strengthen their security.
- Baseband upgrade per iOS update <--- users cannot use any sim card of their choice
- No cracked apps. Nothing for us to try before we buy for MOST apps.

Compared to Android, APPLE SUX! Why do people STILL craved for them? Its simple.

There are tons of hackers out there. And guess what they did? They gave us an app called Cydia --> The blacklisted market, making iDevices NOT read and write protected (or 'JAILBROKEN'). For every iOS update, they battled their way through the iOS, defeating every security measures apple made and non of us liked it. (At least 99%. 1% liked it)

From Cydia, people started to make tweaks. Some hackers also gave us the ability to install cracked apps.

But we gotta watch out for what we download. Some of them are virus (which is 0.1% because Cydia usually get rid of those from their server. If they are not hosted on Cydia, no one knows them).

Thanks to those wonderful guys, our iDevice are amazing. But updating it will erase the jailbreak, so it is better not to update till those hackers battled their way through.

Some of us would join Android Forums. Why? Some hackers out there designed a program called iDroid. From there, we can transform our iDevices to Android (except iPad). Im not those guys going for Android though. Im waiting for a special version which allows me to Dual Boot.

Thats all :)

I agree 100% with the OP. I use an iPhone 3G, and frankly, I hate it. Jailbreaking makes it better, a lot better, but it still pales in comparison to Android. And the thing has so little RAM that you can't run more than two apps without it crashing. I really only use it because it was my mom's old one and she left it sitting there. And I'm a broke 16-year-old.

Honestly, I think those who have owned an iDevice have more of a reason to hate Apple and iDevices than those who haven't.

i like a few apple products, but there are a lot of things i don't like about them. The lack of customization first and foremost.

Also, I don't understand why people say apple devices are more user friendly. Half the settings are scattered in different places. For instance I looked through the music settings trying to find an option to always have shuffle on. No where. Then today I accidently touched the album art and a little bar popped up at the top which allowed me to skip to certain parts of the song and toggle repeat and shuffle on/off. Really?

As for the app store, I don't understand this either. The apps look more polished, but the search method and app selection is about the same as android in my opinion. Search method on both suck if you ask me! Apple has a few more name brand apps, but for some reason it doesnt seem like there are as many apps.

I had an iPhone 3Gs prior to my Droid X, and in my opinion, you HAVE to jailbreak an iPhone to have it even worth using. I used mine stock for about 4 or 5 days, but after reading about what you can do when jailbroken, I did that. But now with Android, I don't find the need to do anything like that, I've been able to do everything I wanted to do right out of the box. I still have my 3Gs (jailbroken on 3.1.3 with a precooked IPSW from Sinful iPhone), but I rarely use it. And the updating thing is such a PITA. The day my DX got delivered, as a matter of fact, I updated a 3rd part app off of Rock and it crapped out and my phone got stuck in a boot loop and I had to do a restore. Man, it's such a pain to start all over again! I jailbroke it, but never did finish putting everything back on since I pretty much only use it as an alarm clock anymore. I'll probably sell it pretty soon, no point hanging onto it. Plus, it has the old bootlrom and old baseband intact still, so selling it like that plus jailbroken and unlocked should net me at least a few hundred smackers!

There's not much an iPhone can do that my Evo can't do. That's about all I want to say on that.

I don't like iOS, and not because it's just from apple. I don't like it, because it's a mess. I don't want pages and pages and pages of applications in 4 (or was it 5?) rows plastered across my screen that I have to go through to get to what I want to use. Why not... have them hidden in some sort of... tray thing. You know, pull them up and have them plastered across the screen only when you want to. Oh! Then, with all that free space on the home screen, be able to put them down, as few or as many as you want to!! Then, then, uhh... widgets! Like, a clock! Then stuff like uhh... an uhh... a music player widget! Battery information, system toggles like WiFi! Things to access the phone hardware like the LED flash on the back!! Put up a wallpaper that matches in the background, or even have one that moves!!!! Then we can--
Wait... didn't I just inherently describe the stock Android launcher?

ooooh, what you said just made me realize that I can use tons of big-ass widgets and just keep all my apps in a single folder on each screen. That's freaking brilliant. I already have about 4 folders on various screens as it is, but it would awesome, and epic nerdy to just throw everything in a folder for maximum jiggy widget functionality.

Thanks.

Actually sounds a lot like my iPhone 3Gs... after the jailbreak. I had folders and moving wallpaper and a clock and toggles and a battery indicator in the status bar along with live weather and a notification app and all sorts of cool stuff. It's INSANE how crippled the iPhone hardware is by the software! I had all this stuff way before the stock iOS had any of it. But doing the jailbreak and waiting for updates and all that stuff is such a pain, so I made the switch to Android for ease of use. That's right, for what I want my phone to do, Android is EASIER to use than iOS! Suck on that, Apple fanbois!

I have had ipod touch and used it at work with exchange and controlled my desktop when I was roaming. I have sprint so I got Epic and have same or better functionality and cost saving over my friends at work with Iphone. For example..we use pocket cloud to control the windows devices (cost 15.00) for iphone and ipad but free to me. I love the virtual mouse with scroll feature for smooth scrolling on windows screen. I am MAC user at home and find integration easy. I also like the ability to get a tune if needed without itunes then transfer it to itunes. Android is pretty close if not better than apple and allows for better ideas to be developed than apples tight regulation and costs which make for a very smooth platform but not as creative at times. I do love apple's Battery life!!!!

i think the better battery life is not an apple thing.. it is mostly a GSM vs CDMA thing.
