Help Setting up facebook....

I went to add my FB account to my phone but when I set it up theres 3 options for synching contacts. They are

• Sync Contacts- Sync FB pics, status and friends info to contacts
• Add all friends- Add all friends in FB to contacts
• Sync Calendar- (I dont want to do this one)

Now when I set it up to do option one Sync Contacts it shows nothing in contacts related to Facebook. Why? What should I be seeing?
When I have Sync Contacts and Add all friends checked I get everything. What is the first option for and why am I not seeing anything? Thanks

I think I figured it out. The first option you have to select who to add. My mistake.


Now I have one other question. What is the benefit of having my Facebook contacts in my Contacts- I can't send them messages on Facebook... It seems like it just acts like a quick link to their profile in the browser. Is that it or am I missing something? Thanks

There is really no point adding facebook contacts in your contacts, same with Gmail contacts. You can't send them text message.

There is a Facebook widget where you can reach everyone within few clicks

It really doesn't serve much purpose but offer a quick way to populate your phone contact list. You can tell it to only sync people with phone numbers.

I don't bother syncing with anything since the list of people I care to contact via my phone is considerably smaller than my Facebook "friends" list.
