This is the screen I took before plugging it in for the day. Add about 3 hours to this since I rebooted the phone yesterday in the morning to try out an app. I didnt hammer the phone but I used it normally.

I've had 2 Fascinates and they don't even sniff the battery life of my Incredible. Incredible gets 30hrs on a 1500mah battery . My Fascinate not even being used with die with in a day , and it's not a rogue app as the phone has no aftermarket apps on it. It's just sitting in a drawer . I had so much hope for the Fascinate and it let me down. I even get it out and try messing with it in hopes I can get it to work some what decently just because the screen is so brilliant

I'm with you on the battery life. I'm getting 8 hours tops, and only barely messing with the phone.

I can't find a "rogue" app, either.

My incredible would get 6-7 hours, but the SF isn't that much better. Why the hell don't companies test out their phones for "real world" usage? Would the engineers want a phone that dies before they get home from work? Come on.

Give us a minimum of 16 hours battery life. They could've given this a larger battery (1800-2000 mAh) and tweaked the power draw of some of the components. Nuts.

Yeah I am trying some different kernals on the SF , before I sell it . I thought my first SF was just a bad one so I exchanged it and the results were the same , tried rooting ,setcpu profiles, etc... can't get even decent battery life... I'm planning on selling it either way but I wanna fiddle with it some more before I do.

My Ally can last two days under moderate usage without any live update widgets running. Even with some more usage, going one and half day is no problem. Can you guys confirm this for Fascinate? I like upgrading the screen size, speed in Fascinate but don't want to downgrade battery, GPS.

i personally moved from a Ally to the Fascinate

i am a very heavy user, pandora streaming hours a day, browsing randomply, occasional youtube viewing, two email auto sync's running, beautiful widgets live weather running......and i run my screen at 80% brightness.....and some #andchat in there too....i also use the camera most days for work documentation.....seriously, my phone doesnt go 20 minutes without being used....which is why i dumped my Ally for the Fascinate, the Ally just couldn't keep up with me and started rebooting randomly to top it off

battery life is roughly the same when not pushed however i find the Fascinate lasts longer when you use it hard

for instance, i stream Pandora several hours a day at work, the Ally went dead on me more than twice in a 10 hour day. The Fascinate, even while running an overclocked kernel and all sorts of widgets and stuff going on, automatic personal gmail and auto company exchange email, etc....all running, my Fascinate still makes it home with 20% or so.....only once did it go dead

with both devices, when i sit at my desk for lunch i plug it in....just so you know, but my habits stayed the same, i just switched devices from Ally to Fascinate and it was an improvement

Thanks for sharing your experience with both phone. I wish majority of SF users enjoy that good battery life like you are getting. Some folks on this forum seem to struggle to get one day usage out it for whatever reason. I think that could be either defective battery, weak signal reception or something wrong in the setting, apps running that can happen in any phone.

I read somewhere that SF has battery life control setting somewhere in the setting menu and I wonder what it is. And how do you feel about call quality, GPS performance in both phone? Ally is pretty good on those. GPS is fairly quick and accurate.

to be clear, i start with a full charge in the morning, it charges for 30minutes to an hour at lunch, and then at the end of a 10 hour workday it has maybe 20 minutes remaining

i am thinking about setting up a second battery/charger because if i work all day and then want to go out that evening, my phone doesn't get a chance to charge

but it is worked very hard all day

the Ally when left alone in standby has much better battery life, but when worked as hard could not keep up

There is something wrong with mine then, because it is 5:15 pm where I live, I took my phone off the charger this morning at 6:00 a.m. So that is about 11 hours. My battery usage says the phone is 3 hrs 47 min and 18 secs since unplugged. Which is incorrect.....It has not be back on the charger all day.

It might be due to rebooting as others said. But more importantly, how much battery juice was left at that point?

and UCLA...,
Could you guys tell me what Kernel and ROM's you have loaded?

I'd be lucky to make 24 hours with mild-to-moderate use.

I'm down to 70% battery life left after four hours since I unplugged from 100%. Display at 84% of battery consumption, moderate to slightly heavy use with screen brightness on Auto.

I'm rooted, JT superclean ROM, and I think his 11/16 undervolt Kernel (I Flashed it, but wasn't sure how to confirm that it worked).

I'm not saying my battery life sucks. Comparable to my old Storm 1, but obviously nothing compared to you guys.

It seems like no android phone user is exactly happy about battery life. Since I need to decide between D2 and SF by the end of this month, I also researched many forums on D2's battery life. The trend is similar there too. Some guys were having really horrible battery drains while other can make D2 go two days, very similar pattern to SF forum here. Depends greatly on apps, settings. Overall SF seems not worse than other super-phones if not better.

My battery can last 4 hours or multiple days.

All depends on how long your screen is on. Usually if your screen is on for more than 3 hours you WILL be low on battery by then.

Time unplugged doesn't mean a thing.

how many apps do you have that are auto syncing every hour or peridiocally. All my apps are set to refresh manually except for gmail.
