Droid X now $55!

The droid X is now $79.99 at Verizon Wireless Cell Phone
apply coupon code 25RAFPCVER1 to lose $25
price then comes to $54.99!

The bad news is there is a $35 activation fee

I got mine for $199 w/ 1yr contract, but I still would have paid that much considering all of the enjoyment I have received from this thing since July.

I was literally about to place my order minutes ago and decided to check (last minute) for possible discounts. Already had a corporate discount and now will be applying the code for an additional $25 off. THANK YOU very much for posting this info!

I don't understand how or why these phones on here are so cheap, what is the catch? Is this only with new contracts?

Thats because its subsidized from a 3rd party retailer, in this case LetsTalk. Meaning you will be signing a contract with ETF's from Verizon and another contract with much stricter TOS and ETF's from LetsTalk.

Lots of fine print to read but if you know what your signing you can get good deals.

ANd in case you didn't know, LetsTalk is WalMart's cell phone site. Not that it matters, really. My brother in law just got two BB Torchs from them for $100. I tried to talk him into going with VZW, but he's had a freaking Razor for 4 years, so it was a waste of breath.

Just for the hell of it, I tried to apprasie my X...It's worth only $124!?!?!? How is an Eris worth more!?!??!?!?!???!?!?!

I just did the same, my X is worth $124, my storm is $8 and my fiancee's curve is $20. I get that the storm is a piece but the curve is a solid blackberry, its not for me but its good phone for blackberry users, I thought it would be around $50 and if the Eris is $132 then the X should be one million lol.

it is strange to me how they price them. all i can think of is once sent back they are forwarded to the manufacturer to be refurbed and restocked. maybe the manuf sets the price for "buy backs" and HTC just pays more.

cause the droid 1 is worth way less then the eris. and the storm for 8 bucks is laughable, my wife has a storm she was going to sell so we looked it up, it could net 50 at least online at cl or ebay

LOL did the same thing before I scrolled down, started having random reboot issues, wonder if I could use this to get another model, I like the X but phone that restarts 2x a day not so much

Is try to see if Verizon would give you another X, my phone has only rebooted on me twice and both times I was trying to OC my phone to 1.45 ghz. I've run several different roms, I've undervolted my phone and overclocked it from 1.15 to1.40 ghz with out any reboots

HOW COME iPHONE NEVER Looses it's Value. Even the (now old) 3GS is HOLDING it's Value!!!! No, other phone holds it's value like iphone! I hate that. Guess what, as soon as Verizon comes out with iphone, I'm getting it. :p

NO, THEY HAVE A TRADE IN PROGRAM THAT IS NOT IN STORE.

Verizon Trade In

ERIS IS STILL WORTH 132 TOO.

(SORRY FOR CAPS, IM WORKING)

Great, thanks for the info :)

Just a quick question... I switched to Verizon 2 months ago from att and got a Droid X. Say in 1 month they come out with some super phone Droid X version (not going to happen but I'm just curious), I'm assuming you would have to pay an ETF if you traded and got a new phone if you were only a couple of months into a 2yr contract??

Thanks.

Not necessarily. Once you pay an ETF with Verizon you are unable to sign with them again for 6 months. If you want to be a good customer and follow the TOS then you would purchase the SuperPhone at full retail and continue your existing contract. You can also add-a-line and then swap the device but continue to pay the additional $9.99 a month for 2 years. I have done this several times.

If you want to be a naughty costumer then you could "add-a-line" to get the promotional pricing on the new device and then cancel the primary line paying the ETF. Keep in mind doing it this way is going to reflect badly on you in the future and prevent you from adding any more lines for a while. Next time you call wanting them to work you a deal or maybe you want to become a VIP or whatever they are going to throw that cancellation in your face. I have been in this position before personally and it's humiliating.

The iPhone doesn't hold it's value, Apple has a RIGID pricing structure, and since they and AT&T are the only ones who sell the iPhone currently, they can maintain that pricing over a long period of time. They do the same thing with their computers. If you put the 3Gs 8Gb into the Verizon Trade In calculator, it's only worth $60 on trade in. That's one of the reasons I don't buy Apple.

I bought my DX from Verizon.com the morning it came out. I knew the price would drop over time, but I wanted the phone at that moment, and had no problem paying more than someone else would months later.

You are way off base with that statement. I sold my original iPhone for more than I paid for it, and I just sold my old 3G iPhone on ebay for $255.00. iPhones really hold their value as well as any Mac computer I've ever owned...
