Root how to tell what rom your running

i did clockwork, rom manager, and think i have JT Voodoo kernel.

but when i goto phone--->about, the phone sys info all looks normal giving
me a kernel version of 26.6.9 or something like that.

what do i look at to see what rom & kernel iam running ?

unless the system build.prop is edited by the kernel/rom maker it wont change what the about phone says. (and since jt is the one producing most kernels he hadnt been changing it)

kernel version 2.6.29 is the android 2.1 eclair one which we are currently all on regardless of custom kernel or not.

really unless you happen to remember which one you flashed that kinda the only way to know right now :eek:

just flash a new one and as long as there wasnt a voodoo kernel onboard already you ll be good to go.

before i loaded the new kernel, i did 2 backups. couldnt i just restore 1 of those without
voodoo killing everything? i mean with everything i have loaded, even did the 2e mod
which you have to do to backup (stops the verification error) if i try anything without
doing this "voodoo removal" process than my phone is dead ?

voodoo prevents you from making full backups and restoring backups. it may "look" like it made a backup but it cant as clockwork mod doesnt recognize ext4. i never tried backups with ext2 lagfix so i cant comment on that :)

under info of setcpu i get : linux ver 2.6.29 willzyx@ubuntu-desktop gcc version 4.4.1 sourcery G++ lite 2009q3-67 #1 sat nov 6

what does this mean ?

well other than that it was made on november 6 not much.

if you are concerned about not being sure if you have voodoo or not run quadrant. if you get anything above 1100 u have voodoo and have to get rid of it to flash a nonvooodoo kernel

if you don t have voodoo then you can flash one now.
