Root Best ROM ro flash: Phone is unlocked UK Orange HTC Desire Foryo 2.2

Hi,

I intend to root my phone and from research it seems there are lots and lots of different custom ROMs floating around, some including radio versions, some not, some are specific to phones, some mentioned in threads are obviously just old, not many seem logically named as to what they are.....

Can anyone help me with what the best custom ROM for my phone (unlocked UK Orange HTC Desire Foryo 2.2) would be?

I have lots of guides on how to do it - just not sure what ROM to do it with!

I want to root so that i can:
- use a different button than power button to wake the phone - i think this requires a custom ROM? (note i have tried widgetlocker but this causes odd behaviour with SMS popups with quickreply)
- install apps to SD card
- Possible better battery life (I have read a few threads hinting that some improvements can be made once rooted)

ROM choice is completely subjective - what one person loves another might hate

Thanks but this is why I was asking for some advice on what would be best given the things I wanted to achieve by rooting

- Battery life is dependant on usage so can't really be compared unless you use exactly the same things as someone else

- Almost all custom ROMs use A2SD+ so you're choice is whether you want Sense-based ROMs (like the stock ROM) or stock Android

- Again, some ROMs have the option to use the trackpad to wake. Otherwise you can just an add-on to add to your stock rooted ROM

One of the optional mods allows you to use the trackpad to wake.

This is the one im going to go with i think. Theres quite a few optional mods that I didnt know about that sound good.
