I might have possibly turned my Fascinate into a true paper weight. Only thing that gives me hope is I can get into stock recovery.

So here is what happened , I Downloaded the new Superclean Rom and Stupid Fast Kernal installed and had the phone boot up , once I unlocked the screen I got the android process errors and force closes not allowing me to do aything. No big deal, I made a back up I'll just boot into clockworkmod and recover. Welp I accidentally clicked the wrong one and it must have been from my Incredible because when it rebooted I got an HTC Quietly Brillient screen then the Droid bootup and finally the red eye is where it froze.

Then I couldn't get into clockworkmod so I wiped and reinstalled Clockworkmod via Odin and then manually put the update zip on my sdcard and still can't get into clockworkmod. And now if I try to reboot , I get the black Samsung screen then the phone shuts off and only a battery pull will get me power again.

Is this a voodoo issue? As in, the system partition is still EXT4, hence Odin isnt work correctly?

Good luck dude, I would try to go on mIRC irc.freenode.net #samsung-fascinate to ask for some live help

it looks like you only pushed clockwork recovery through odin. you are going to have to all 3 steps at this point. (although using an inc nandroid may/may not have fried your radio )

you ll have to pit/system, kernel, and then recovery again.

*if* the phone will boot at this point then see if the radio works at all. if it does then your fine and just may have to deal with a voodoo removal at worst if you had voodoo.

Followed the steps and it went with out a hitch, the phone is back to stock . I'm shocked it didn't brick after recovering to an Incredible backup system .

Now to re root it and try to make this a functional android phone

phew...these phones are nearly brickproof :)

my guess on the radio not being overwritten would be that because it was a nandroid the system wouldnt accept the non-matching files, whereas if it was pushed through odin (like has happened to some people) it forcibly overwrites it.

thats just a theory though ;)
