Looking for help over in the Troubleshooting section.

Phone is not able to download apps (has been "downloading" for a long time with no success).

I'm assuming I have a setting that needs to be changed.

Please advise if you might know what is preventing me from adding apps.

Thanks.

reboot doesn't work.

I have not installed a task killer to my knowledge.

If this is a problem that has no solution, then I am on my second phone in about 3 months with major problems.

I really appreciate the timely replies.

Mods, I would appreciate it if you leave this thread in the main section for a period of time - Troubleshooting section was not getting me a response.

Just to make sure...you rebooted while the downloading was still in process? You didn't cancel out of it, did you?

Plan B: Go to Settings, Applications, Manage applications. Hit soft menu button, then Filter, then click on All. Scroll down to Market Updater and clear the cache. Reboot and try downloading again.

Looking for help over in the Troubleshooting section.

Moved there for you, luke.

The main reason we want to post problems in Support and Troubleshooting is that those searching for solutions will eventually hit Support and post their problem(s) instead of the big generic area where I moved this thread from.

Between posting the issues here, and then thinking about posting the discovered solution in Tips and Tricks, it makes the whole thing easier for members (and non members looking to join) to find a path to resolution: kind of like an organized library as opposed to a pile of books in the middle of the floor. ;)

Arrrgggh! Well, again, if I've selected an app to download and either the download doesn't begin or it says "downloading" and nothing progresses, I leave the attempt to download in limbo and reboot. Once it completes the reboot the download begins on its own. In my device something in memory periodically interferes with the download process and rebooting proceeds with the already-begun attempt before anything can get in the way.

What's wrong with a pile of books in the middle of the floor? Wanna picture? I'd never find anything if it was "straightened out."

Well then, we might as well tear all of the pages out of the books, too, and throw them around the room, if we don't like things organized. ;)

While we're at it, we can take scissors to the pages and cut them up, because each page is organized by paragraphs, etc.

Then we can proceed to the individual letters in each word; separate them out, words are organized by spelling, etc.

We're either going to be organized as best we can, or we're not.

..etc. :D

I cancelled all downloads and then re-installed all downloads. It worked, and I assume the reboot worked.

I'm guessing I'll find out how much 3g the attempted downloads is going to cost me when I get my bill.

Thanks for the help.

On the discussion about the Troubleshooting organization, I understand your attempt to organize for future searches, but the lack of traffic on the troubleshooting page (I had about 20 "views" with no repsonse before I moved it to the general thread and got a quick response.

Not trying to be a problem, but you have less helpful comments to organize if you restrict it to a thread that gets no response to my question.
