Help Nothing is updating after Froyo update. WTH??

Ok so I've searched the forums high and low. But I haven't been able to get a clear answer or solution. But anyway I did the Froyo update on Oct 7th. Im really lovein the flash capability. But since then none of my widgets are updating. Facebook, social network, Recent messages and news. When I try to update a status on my social network one it jus says, "can't send update. Message failure. " And I have the orange triangle with exclamation point on most of my messageing icons. So I just need to know if this is either a softwhere fix I need to wait for. Or is their something I can do to fix this myself. Thanks in advance!

Ok im still new to my Droid X. How would I go about doing a factory reset? And I assume I would lose everything on my phone right? AND is there any other suggestions.

Factory reset is always the first response. I have to say, it did solve a freezing screen problem on my wife's Droid 2. Most other support here you'll only find after you did a reset.

There are a couple of ways. Easiest is to navigate to settings>privacy>factory reset.

You will lose all the settings on your phone. If you have the "backup my data" and "automatically restore" set under the same privacy menu, then all your installed apps will be reinstalled as soon as you log back into gmail. You'll lose very little data, other than having to set up your homescreens again.
Your SD card and contents will NOT be affected, no data will be lost, so don't worry about that. However, you will lose call history and text messaging history. So if there are any MMS pictures that you want to save, you better do that.

Other than that, Factory Resets are quite easy. There is also another thing that you can try. Go into the factory menu (hold home key while powering on device). When you get to the Green Android guy, press the camera button and go into service menu. You can do a factory reset from here as well, as well as deleting your cache, which some people have claimed fixes some issues.

Im going through the steps now and im kinda nervous. Lol. I have "backup my data" and "automatic restore" checked and it keeps giving me messages that this will erase all data. Am I still ok to go ahead and reset it??

Contacts and phone numbers are stored in two locations. One is on Verizon (called "phone contacts"). That should back up reguarly to Verizon's servers through backup assistant.

Then you have Google contacts, which are stored in Gmail.

When you put your information back into the phone all of those contacts will restore, but you may have to link some of them again if names don't exactly match up.

The thought with a factory reset is that updates can sometimes leave "fragments" that cause incompatibity. Factory resets removes all those fragments and data.

Yes when you hit factory reset, it will erase all data and programs on the phone and put it in a mode as you just unboxed it from verizon, with the exception that your SD card isn't touched and firmware will be the latest you updated to.

But once you put your contact information back into the phone, it will prompt you to reinstall all your apps.

You will lose messaging and call history. Plus you'll have to set your homescreens up again.

If you have an alternate launcher (LauncherPro or ADW.Launcher), you can even backup some of that stuff to a file on your SD card. Like on ADW, there is a Backup ADW Settings button and a Backup Desktop Configuration button. Haven't tried them, but seems that they should get me back to where I am if I ever need that.

Oh and I forgot I have alot of info saved on the "Note Everything" app. Does the apps hold on to that info?
