Whats up everyone? Yet ANOTHER question from me.. Alot of people are talking about/advising Launcher Pro.. Ive talked to a few people on here, as well as read up on it. However I still really am unsure of what exactly it does as a whole and what the pros/cons are of it.. Is there a link that explains it all in simple terms for someone whos not so tech savy as myself? Or maybe someone wants to take the time out to explain it as simple aas possible :D

Sorry for being a dummy, and thanks again everyone

Like Andy said, I doubt anyone in their right minds will advise you against using Launcher Pro. I liked it enough to buy the full version. In my opinion, LP seems to be a smoother home screen. The full version gives you access to LP widgets, which are pretty awesome as well. Just download the free version and try it out. That's pretty much the best way to find out if you'll like it or not and how it works too. Here's an article that did a review on LP.

It's a 3rd party launcher.

When you turn your phone on and you tap the buttons that the launcher, the home screens, adding apps and widgets to the screen, that's all done with the launcher.

Launcher pro is a different one. It has a few added features. If you download it as the others have suggested, you will see for yourself.

It's basically a homescreen replacement. You can add widgets, shortcuts, open apps etc just like you would with the homescreens that it came with the phone. The difference is, there are a lot more features and options for you to customize. For some, it's also more fluid than the stock homescreen (no lag). Like others have said, you should download it and see if you like it. You can also get rid of it and go back to your original homescreen if you decide that it's not for you.

1. Download Dazzle. Power control. Extended Control. Beautiful Widgets. Some are free, some paid. They all should get you a version of what you want. I used dazzle before I bought a different one.

2. LauncherPro buy it there then bookmark the site when updates come. Whenever you see an update, Fede posts info on it. Always good to read. The Launcher Widgets are very well done.

3. You can hide apps in the app drawer. HOWEVER, with app organizer, I almost never use the app drawer now. 15 dock buttons PLUS swipe actions..... no need for app drawer and I have over 100 downloaded apps.

Sense is excellent BUT LP plus is so worth it. Along with app organizer and tasker, my phone is sooo much better.

1. The widgets HTC made for their "Sense" launcher (i.e. what you're using as standard on a Desire) aren't "true" Android widgets so they don't work with any launcher except HTC Sense.
2. Find the free version (called Launcher Pro) on Market and install it. Then pay the fee for the full version (called Launcher Pro Plus) to Fede (the guy behind LP) using PayPal and he will email you an unlocking code. Enter this one inside the Launcher Pro settings and it will unlock the Plus features. Whenever there's a new version released on the market you can update your Plus version with it.

I've tried Launcher Pro twice now. For some reason I get A LOT of force close, and A LOT of "problem loading widget" messages.....

can anyone help? Or is there a better app that will allow me to have multiple screens?
You don't have WidgetLocker installed on your phone, do you? If so, make sure to not use the "HomeHelper" app included with WL as it is known to cause FCs of LP.

The dock and swipe actions are just awesome. When I first switched over from Sense, the dock eliminated the need for 7 screens for me. I'm back up to 7 now... but the dock is sweet.

Coming from Sense, I had to get Beautiful Widgets to replace the Sense clock. But that was OK because BW is also very cool.

I think LP is just as good as Sense (in terms of speed and smoothness) except in two places. Sometimes when I view the thumbnails of my screens, there is a slight hitch. The other place is when adding an app to a screen, there is sometimes a pause before it displays the app list. Otherwise, it's been perfect (and stable) for me.
