Accessories Two fully charged batteries or extended battery?

Two fully charged. Easily. Maybe it's easier for me to say because i always have a gazillion pockets to stash stuff, but a) It's easier to carry an extra slim little battery in another pocket or keep in your car b) You keep the small size of your droid 2, so you can choose whatever case you want/won't have issues with accessories and c) An extended battery is less juice than 2 standard batteries. Well, at least the one my girlfriend has. She made me buy her (yeah, made me) the 1900 mah battery for hers and still, she charges hers everyday. But me? I'm always rockin out with 2 batteries at 2700 mah of juice put together like a...JUICY...sandwhich. Get it? Ah nevermind

TLDR: 2 standard batteries

I don't do either of those things, I just charge mine frequently. I charge it in the car to and from work, I charge it over night, and charge it while setting at my desk or at home in my chair via USB.

I carry two fully charged batteries just in case when I'm not around my charger, which is usually home. Also, I always make sure the third one in my phone is fully charged before leaving my house.

EDIT: When I'm out for the whole day, I rarely even use them though lol. I only use them when I've been playing a lot of emulator games or doing a lot of texting and browsing. Even then though, I would still have like 50% left. This battery lasts long.

Also, I think is has to do with the modifications I've done. I'm using Fission ROM which is Vanilla Android, which is not a memory/source/battery hog like the Motoblur UI the DROID2 comes with. Then I have my RAM set to not go below 75mb using Root Tools from the market.

Is yours draining battery life that bad to require multiple re-chargings each day? I'm considering to get D2 and that's quite scaring.

No, I just choose to keep it charged. I'd much rather keep it charged than to spend money on separate or extended batteries.
I can have my screen as bright as I want, listen to music, watch movies, have my weather, news, and email update as often as I want, without worrying about the battery not lasting.

I see. If I am using smart-phone like you, any phone would be fine for battery. But I prefer to have a phone with enough staying power for at least a day, so I can use it outside without having to worry about it under moderate to medium usage. I researched forums on Droid 2 battery life and the user experiences seem to vary so much from only 5~6 hours to more than couple of days.

Also are you running MotoBlur? Launcher Pro uses less battery than MotoBlur and it is nicer.

It's also dependant on what kind of signal area you are in. Poor signal will tax a battery.

My Moto Q came with an extended battery and door, and I bought an even higher capacity Seidio. I carry a second battery, for all of my phones since, in a zippered pouch, which used to house a thumb drive, on my key chain. That way its always with me, and I don't have to carry a charger. Good to have given how much I use sling.

Very true. If you're stuck in a 1x area, just turn it off, unless you can charge it.

What does this mean? Stream music? Watch video? make calls? All use different amounts of battery. Also, how long do you want to be able to go without charging?

I'd say get the extended battery, since you already get a standard battery included. The problem is that most of the phones don't come with a dock, so you can only charge the battery inside the phone, which makes 2 batteries somewhat convenient.

I'm in the same boat. With light to moderate usage, there is no reason to have an extra battery. I've come home after a day of moderate use, and still had over 50%.

I only use background data when I'm on the market and to check for updates once a day. It surely plays a role in battery life and I use JuiceDefender.

That's impressive life with that heavy use and also with background, auto-sync on. How big is the capacity of extended battery? Does it make D2 thicker and require different back cover?
