Hey thorn im trying to figure out how to put all them roms on my phone but im having a hard time figuring it out.
I don't do either of those things, I just charge mine frequently. I charge it in the car to and from work, I charge it over night, and charge it while setting at my desk or at home in my chair via USB.
Is yours draining battery life that bad to require multiple re-chargings each day? I'm considering to get D2 and that's quite scaring.
No, I just choose to keep it charged. I'd much rather keep it charged than to spend money on separate or extended batteries.
I can have my screen as bright as I want, listen to music, watch movies, have my weather, news, and email update as often as I want, without worrying about the battery not lasting.
I see. If I am using smart-phone like you, any phone would be fine for battery. But I prefer to have a phone with enough staying power for at least a day, so I can use it outside without having to worry about it under moderate to medium usage. I researched forums on Droid 2 battery life and the user experiences seem to vary so much from only 5~6 hours to more than couple of days.
It totally depends on how you use your phone. Others can't make the decision for you. How do you use your phone?
The amount of time a battery lasts will always be dependent on the user.
Laptop magazine tested the battery of several android devices using the same test for each.
They concluded the Droid X has the best battery, the Dell Streak was second and the Droid 2 was third, the Incredible was last.
It's also dependant on what kind of signal area you are in. Poor signal will tax a battery.
Well I am a heavy heavy user.
I have a extended battery and it last me all day.
Seems like majority of D2 users can get home with +50% left under moderate to medium usage. My typical daily usage would consist of 20~30 minutes of talk, 20~30 minutes of web surfing, checking emails every half hour, several texts. If I can get back home with more than 55% left under such usage, I will be very happy. Lasting any longer would be bonus.
For those of you having decent battery life out of D2, did you make some tweaks on the settings to get there or just with default setting out of box? I saw some suggestions like disabling background data (I don't like it), adjusting peak time for sync (not sure what that means), setting battery mode to maximum life, etc on the other forums. Just wonder if those tweaks are necessary to have enough battery staying power for daytime usage.
I'm a Heavy user.. Let me break it down.
Texting = ALL DAY
Syncing = ALL DAY (Facebook, Myspace, Gmail, Fox NFL, NFL Network, Fox College Sports)
Phone Calls = maybe 30 minutes
On the Internet A LOT
Gaming = 3.5 - 4.5 Hours a day (Work is BORING)
After 2 Days I have about 10% - 15% left.
